  1. Not every power trail has identical containers the length of the trail....Sun Valley Parkway outside of Phoenix has many different cache containers. We have done 1/3 one day (about 42), 1/3 another day (about 46) and we have another 50 or so to go....we laugh, search, run, walk, laugh some more, stop for a picnic, and have a great time....I am not caching to get numbers, I cache because of the experience of the day...both days were a lot of fun and VERY memorable....so don't poo poo power cache trails....if you cache for fun and the experience - then power trails could fulfill this desire.
  2. And doesn't he log Texas and Tennessee caches on the same day?
  3. Maybe it's an attempt at payback for you posting a "Needs Archived" on his cache? This wasn't this cachers first rude log....
  4. Hi AZ Cachers, I am headed to Wisc, Michigan, and hopefully Canada at the end of June. If you own a TB or Coin that you would like me to take to any of those areas, let me know....I am happy to have hitchhikers with me. KBfamily
  5. In all fairness, one is just disabled He'll be gone in a month. Oops....thanks for helping me out.....
  6. Did you look at the two hides that HE had? Oh man.....I am glad he doesn't live by me so I don't have to deal with his caches....what a mess. Another log from this rude cacher: Same container as the last two. Come on guys get creative!! This from a cacher that has placed two TERRIBLE caches that are both archived.
  7. Make sure you take a friend and a car that is super easy to get in and out of...
  8. I have one cache placed on an island only accessible by boat...although, there is a great story of a pair of cachers making it to the island with a blow up kayak....hilarious pictures in their log. I went to a cache site yesterday that needed a mirror to see the cache...I have to go back to get my smiley since I didn't have a mirror with me.
  9. So again, maybe she hid the cache WITH the cache owner.....she didn't claim a FTF on the online site so WHAT is the problem? This is standard when two people hide a cache together....WHAT is the problem? I know it is early but I am just not getting it.....
  10. I can't even remember what I put in my box....hoping receiver posts pictures of it....just getting old...dang....
  11. It looks like you are the first to find on the online log....was there another online log that has been removed or was it just on the paper log that someone wrote? I have had a friend place caches with me and then he logged the online log AFTER the cache was found by a couple of other people....
  12. I would most certainly just move on...if the cache owner and your ex are friends, don't you think the cache owner would tell her that you are complaining? THAT would humiliating and embarrassing....
  13. That is taking Phone a Friend to a WHOLE new level.....ridiculous.....
  14. There are three stages of Santa - 1. When you are waiting for Santa 2. When you are Santa 3. When you look like Santa So - Luvbassn, don't give up....you may see Santa yet!
  15. The west valley has a powertrail of a couple of hundred out on the Sun Valley Parkway. It is about an hour from Tempe but well worth the drive...you can jump out of your car and grab caches on either side of the road....very little traffic...only 1 curve to be careful of....look up Sun Valley Parkway and you will see that there are caches up both sides of the road and on some of the side roads....have fun!!
  16. Could not have said it better. While I certainly see some navigation and search issues - I just don't think things are nearly as bad as the op. Putting aside the whole Facebook thing, the issues brought up in this forum post are very valid. If the website was easier to navigate, newbies wouldn't have as many questions as they do. Mistakes and things considered "bad form" would not happen as often if the website was better organized and more user friendly. I have needed to look up cachers before and this website makes it very difficult. I have had cachers sign the log of the TB hotel that I have yet not sign the website log or document that they took TB's. After an appropriate amount of time, I try to track them down to kindly remind them to document their visit to the hotel and it is NOT easy. What about an area on the website that tries to match up local cachers for assistance or if you are looking for a caching buddy? Don't say to post it in the forum...newbies don't even know the forum is there... Whenever I see that someone in my area is new to caching, I send them an email and offer my help if they ever want it. There should be something on the website that could assist in providing a service like this. I remember struggling to get the answers I needed and I am not stupid. I use my computer quite a bit and have three college degrees yet was frustrated and confused at times when I first started caching. I feel for the non-computer savvy newbie cacher....this website has got to leave them overwhelmed. Forget asking a question on the forums....you guys eat newbies for lunch. Don't be defensive about what the post writer is saying. Try being open-minded and perhaps this newbie's fresh look at things could make life easier for all of us. So, in typical geocache forum style, which one of you would like to add a snarky, cruel, unnecessary remark about what I have said? Go ahead, you know you want to....
  17. "I knew I had to pass a Newbie test before I could place my first cache, but THIS is ridiculous!"
  18. How many times is there a question on the forums about how to log a TB or Coin? We need a few quizzes....Let's admit it, no one likes to read a bunch of rules and regulations...I didn't...honestly...I didn't read up on anything until I needed it....I KNOW I am not the only one....I really like the quiz idea.....
  19. Ummm....you can remember the camera but not the pencil? You are very silly.... How about velcroing a pencil to the camera?
  20. We found 100 caches before we placed our first cache....I really wanted to see what was out there to make sure I did a good job...but, we did 100 in our first couple of weeks...so I would NOT have liked it if I had been forced to wait three months... What about a fellow cacher as a newbie coach or mentor or something?...I don't know what the logistics would look like...but time and number constraints doesn't fit all situations.... My brother has 36 caches and has been caching for 2 months....he is TOTALLY capable of placing a great cache...so, I do not agree with constraints the way you have suggested but maybe there is a compromise and we just need a creative person to think one up.
  21. I have 42 caches out there....many with favorites....one with 20, one with 11, one with 9, etc.....does that make me a "jerk"?
  22. HOW FUN!! I walked in the door from work and 14 year old was proudly displaying the unopened Easter Mission box...he had been counting the minutes until I came home. There is a GREAT cache container in the box filled with lots of pink and purple Easter grass. It had 2 PEZ in it. I LOVE PEZ! It brings me back to my childhood. Casey immediately grabbed up this fake homemade snow kit. He was at the sink making it before I got to the bottom of the box. We live in the Arizona desert so even fake snow is a ton of fun. The coins are fabulous! The Ten Year coin is just beautiful! Thank you SO much to rickctroop13 for making today really special for me and Casey. He is sitting here chomping on the Easter Egg bubble gum....YOU rocked this mission!!
