  1. I will check that out. Thanks!! Datum says WGS 84 How do I know if that is what it is supposed to be?
  2. I will check that out. Thanks!!
  3. My old/dead Nuvi 265 would take me right to ground zero. My new, Nuvi 500, can't get me within 50 feet. WHAT am I doing wrong?>
  4. I used a Nuvi 265 for my first year of geocaching. It was awesome and finding GZ. Recently, I was blessed with the gift of a Colorado 400i but it just couldn't do better than about 5 ft from GZ. Then, I bought a NUVI 500, thinking it would have a GZ as good as the 265, but it doesn't. It has me off by 50 feet. Is there something so much different between the 265 and the 500 that I am making GZ be off? Does something need to be set that I am not doing correctly...I am so frustrated with this....also, the Colorado died and Garmin sent me a refurbished Oregon and it doesn't give me a GZ like my Nuvi 265 did....I miss my 265.....
  5. I buy all of my cache containers at a store called Savers....it is the same as a Goodwill or Salvation Army store....I paid .69 cents for a GREAT lock and lock last week...plus, I have found numerous other things I have made containers out of....large plastic owl, rubber snake, bird houses, etc.
  6. We spotted this good size lizard today out in the AZ desert....any idea what kind it is?
  7. Didn't cache today....but I was a Phone a Friend for a fellow cacher to help him find one of my caches....taught 28 7th and 8th graders (we are going into the last week of school so this was NO easy task), stalked the forums....
  8. I totally laughed out loud at this one~~!! Thanks for the chuckle!
  9. You don't think the potential hamster explosion has anything to do with WSR's mysterious disappearance, do you?
  10. My concern is, if he ate everything that I packed with him, and he can't get out and run around pretty soon, then he may just totally bloat up....can he get big enough to rupture the box?
  11. Okay....I will go ahead and claim box #2...no, I didn't pack any chocolate in with the hamster...don't you know that chocolate gives hamsters gas?
  12. Forget about the melting chocolate, what about the hamster I put in box 3?
  13. ewwwwwwwwwww The little ones are the ticks to watch out for... they carry the bacteria that causes Lyme disease. Watch out for a bullseye looking rash... fatigue.... fever.... and depression. That's one TICKthat you don't want to mess with! That would REALLY tick me off if that happened to anyone in my family!!
  14. I am smiling ear to ear!! I am SO glad that my advice led to some great days of caching for you! Smiling ear to ear!!
  15. I placed 12 caches today...all premium membership caches.....maybe they don't get muggled as often, maybe they are harder to get to, maybe I want to offer caches to those that are paying members....any, part, or all of these things may be true...bottom line, I am the cache owner. I can make them premium caches if I want to with no explanation due to you or anyone else. I play this game the way I want to play it....so there....(making a raspberry sound).
  16. #19 - KBfamily I was born on the 19th so that is a great lucky number for me!
  17. WOW! What a snarky remark to a new cacher who came here for advice and also to just vent about a problem that they have experienced for the first time....it may not faze you or others, but this was a big deal to this newbie and you just blew them off leaving them with a negative forum/caching experience...Someone must have stolen your cookies today or pulled your hair and then you took it out on unsuspecting Nytngale. Nytngale, I am so sorry that this camper mix up happened...Travel Bugs and Coins disappear and return all of the time. Each time one of mine comes up missing, I have a moment of - oh no, not again - then I just have to move on and hope they show up again. Then, I put another trackable out there and hope that this experience will be better. I have come across a number of TB's that are missing their little hitchhiker or a different one has been added....at least the TB tag was still in the cache and not just tossed out. I hear the most successful TB's are ugly ones that no one would want to keep or collect. One of the oldest TB's that I found was just a piece of thick string with some random beads stuck on it....that was a huge lesson for me. I have seen and had the "joy" of being snapped at in the forums, but I just ignore those posts and focus on the informative/supportive ones. Happy Caching!!
  18. We have a ceiling fan that is off balance so it continues to scream at me TICK TICK TICK....getting up now to shut that dang thing off!
  19. Obviously things that tick... like clocks and watches.. and time bombs. I hope to see some of Tick Geocoins as a play on words. *tongue in check* THAT is VERY funny! Tic Tac Toe.....
  20. You think it's loud now?? Just wait until I have gotten the last one. I can't wait...THAT is the problem! TICK TICK TICK TICK
  21. This happened to me once before....Geocaching.com took care of it for me...I actually had to send them a picture of the tag so they could see I wasn't reading it wrong.
