  1. OK, can't post fancy pics. Can't talk like Yoda. Can't manuever a light saber with any finesse. Don't have the moves of Hans Solo. Certainly don't have the hair of Princess Leah, and C3PO won't have anything to do with me since my last fan letter. But there is ONE thing that I CAN do..... I can sound just like Darth Vader after climbing a steep hill to find a tough cache. Now does that put me in the running for one of these coveted and awesome coins? (PS, I did see the movies and we got our hands on them again a couple weeks ago to rewatch them) Love the design, and regardless, thanks for the fun of another mystery coin, anne
  2. I'm at camp right now volunteering my w/e taking care of 103 kids. All I can see around me is snow, snow, snow and bundles of faceless kids slip sliding down the hills. I think everything looks like snowflakes right now! Love the looks of this coin, and can feel the force from here. Though I am so surrounded that even the stars look like snowflakes to me right now. It is a bit overwhelming the generosity of the geocoin community. Good luck to the bidders! anne
  3. LadyBee4T and I found a cache last week called CCC. It brought back memories of her and the surprise I had getting this wonderful coin. Betcha didn't know that there is a cache in Michigan known by these 3 special letters, didja? Thanks again for the gift of this special coin, anne
  4. Congratulations on your great find Us 4 and Jess! The calendar work sounds great! It is so nice to see something like this done in order to help others. Good for you! You deserve a special treat for doing this! I am happy for you! anne
  5. I am still keeping them in my prayers. I just got home from a day trip with LadyBee4T and this was on my list of things to check before I crash for the night. Glad to see a rather positive update, but sad to see now there is yet another concern for them. I'll keep praying and will update my church prayer chain too for continued prayers. God bless and Good night, anne
  6. I think it has been an hour, hasn't it? How about kayaking and tennis?
  7. What an awesome opportunity! I am going to guess Archery and Tennis
  8. Congratulations! It is so special to be treated like this. Nice stories like this just warm myhaart! Thank you again you sneaky secret CCC folk (or folks!). You have brought a lot of smiles to us coin hounds. Still love this coin and I treasure mine. Thank you, anne
  9. OH Rod! Congratulations! I am so so happy for you! Could not have happened to a better person! I think these coins are neat. Sort of reminds me of the cloak of invisibility I carry in my cache bag. (Of course I never need it, nobody, but nobody pays any attention to a 50 something year old woman anyway) This is a very nice thing someone is doing and I am so glad to see that there are still such wonderful people/spies in the world. (I ran into a couple of the other kind at work today...) Congrats to the recent finders, anne
  10. Moop Along says: Very soon! The snows took me out of commission for a day! When I measured this morning, I had 18 inches of fresh white stuff out there! Haven't forgotten and am now waiting the teen going back to school and some days off, which is just days away! Thanks! CZ, be sure and watch for the monthly event Meet and Gree we have at Panera in Southfield. It's held on a Wed eve, and I think its the second wed of the month if I have it correct. Great place to get to know some of the local cachers! anne
  11. My heart has been touched by Breast Cancer too. I spent over 3 years caring for a dear friend who finally lost her battle just before Christmas 2 years ago. There is not a day that I don't think of her and miss her. I'll be choosing a coin and sending it out in the very near future with a special purpose and message. Please, please, please get out and get your annual mammograms done (and I am guilty of this myself I admit). And pay attention to any changes or lumps. Susie would be alive today had she not ignored a lump....that became as big as a baseball, before she sought help for it. Great idea for a cointest, admirable goal for getting out there and training too! I'll try and be one of the "are you keeping up at it" folks. More later as I ponder this idea further, anne
  12. That was fun! Thanks! I found it interesting that Rod posted this: We cached together the other day on some of this caches....I hope he wasn't referring to me! Tee hee, he does have a reputation for some sneaky hides! Now we need a cointest mid year or so to see how we all have done with our resolutions come June or so! Happy New Year again! anne
  13. Happy New Year to one and all out there in geocoin forum land! Have had a terrible time deciding which resolution to post here as I have a bunch in my head that I am considering. Therefore the resolution I have is to learn how to use more than my GPSr to navigate and find my way back to the car and civilization. (Dear me, that means a compass I think) And to spend time in the bible each day reading. Have a great year everyone! anne
  14. Very fun! Nobody at my house looks anything like the above celebratory pics, so no posts like that from me! I nearly drive that per year! Though I have a 94 Camry that only has 160K on it. Congrats darnjoeSNARG! And thank you very much for the fun GBOTS! Til next New Years! anne
  15. Email sent from me too! Actually 2 emails sent, I goofed. Sorry, had to go out of 2007 with a bang I guess. Happy New Year, anne
  16. One more round before I head off to work..... 79,352
  17. Good Sunday morning all! 71,351 The rest of you can stop guessing now, I just got it right! anne
  18. I sent you a note to give you some ideas. Hey Clayton, if you go out to Belle Isle late this week, let me know! I have been wanting to get back there and have some time off. I don't want to go alone, it's more fun with others! Welcome to Michigan! You will find that the cachers here are a friendly wonderful group of folks. We are here to help, so be sure and check out the MIGO website too for events and ideas.
  19. So here's my story: My thyroid has given me some real trouble this past year. My weight has bounced all over the place and I have really struggled to stay healthy and not lose any strength. Then this fall I had a major knee "injury". Mix in an insane Christmas schedule and some lab values that are less than desirable and you have the perfect combination for a couch potato salad. Today was the day that I determined that I was going to do some of the more lengthy caches and get some exercise and fresh air no matter how bad I felt, nor how much I had to do at home. I ran away from home. It was tough going on the ice on the trails, but I managed to find time to do 4 caches, and got almost 3 miles under my belt. It felt great. And no matter how tired I felt I kept telling myself that I would get a reward out of this....thinking about mental health of course. Move forward to late afternoon and a chance to actually spend time with LadyBee4T, my frequent caching partner and fantabulous friend. We did a cache, DNF'd one and then decided to go for some supper and exchange gifts. LordYatchman met us and we giggled our way through about 2 hours time. We had fun opening presents, and it is obvious she knows me well....the first thing I got was a bumper sticker that says: Found cache Lost car I roared! Then she gave me a CHAIN SAW! And anyone who knows me knows that I have long bemoaned the fact that no one will let me have one. I spend my summers volunteering at a camp and they will NOT let me use a chain saw...under any circumstances. Neither will my family. So getting one for Christmas is just too good to be true. Now it might only be 4 inches across and have 3 pink crystals in it and a keychain loop, but who cares..... It's a CHAIN SAW and it's mine all mine! And then one more package. Oh my gosh.....You shouldn't have! I got a GEOCOIN FAiRY! She is adorable! I have let her loose in my office and she is flying around having a great time here as I type! What a great surprise! Some time ago I mentioned on the wish list thread about 2 coins that I really liked. Within a short period of time I had received those coins. I had wanted a fairy too, but I was so worried about appearing greedy about it, that I have not said anything..... But the fairies knew. Thank you for this wonderful coin. It will not be leaving my possession and I will treasure it for a long time. And when I am sitting in the old fogies home in my rocking chair telling stories of my past and reminiscing, this will be one of those memories that I will be cherinshing. LadyBee4T, Thank you. And Merry Christmas, anne
  20. OK, here's todays guess: 56,579 Thanks for the fun! anne
  21. Boy would that owner ever hate my logs! I have a reputation for long logs, and for admitting the funny things that happened on the way. I sometimes relate it to some similar situatiions, or refer to some thing that the cache reminded me of in the past. I have had folks tell me since day one that they love my logs and would rather read a story, then just see a few capitalized letters with nothing else. How sad. Perhaps that person has a reading problem and just can't admit it. Or a control problem. There are very few caches I avoid, but I would not want to do these. It would just be a real disappointment to have a good time finding a cache, then not be able to share the story. It is a log of events, not just a signature of a find. Too bad. He doesn't know what he is missing. anne
