  1. I am casting my vote and bumping this request. It would be very nice to save a public bookmark list to my own bookmark list. This is especially useful for finding a series for which the cache owner has already created a list (ie more time cachine and less time duplicating someone else's work). Thanks for your consideration.
  2. Oh man, I'm from that area (Moorpark) and can't wait to do some caching there. Just look at the weather on the right side of the article!! I used to ride the Sycamore Canyon trail a lot and would love making a few cache stops on the way! Also, it's great to see someone on the inside making an effort to support one of the few activities available to us these days that actually supports the enjoyment of national/state/municipal parks!
  3. Just found this article on Engadget. Not good for geocachers in the southeastern US. No, your GPSr didn't just die... http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/20/faa-warns-of-ongoing-gps-issues-in-southeastern-us-due-to-defens/
  4. I'm not seeing the trail south or east from the cache you linked to. I did, however, see lots and lots of caches just west of Ft. Sam. I may be spending some time there (7 weeks) later this year. I know where I'll be when I can get leave. We'll be happy to have you here in San Antonio! Yeah, the power trail I was talking about starts slow, but picks up in density further on. Here's #99 in the series. You should be able to follow it to both end from there. http://coord.info/GC266PT
  5. I didn't create this or even found any of them, but plan to soon. The MCP (Must Come Play) series a few miles south of San Antonio, TX has 107 caches mostly between Poteet and Devine. Each cache page talks about different games - monopoly, charades, monkeys in a barrel, etc... Here's the first in the series - http://coord.info/GC25ZRK It goes south then east from there. They are spaced out at first, then get closer together.
  6. Although I haven't started yet, I recently found a cache of coins I collected while living in Guatemala. Most are 1 cent pieces and seem to be made of tin, but I probably have 500 of them so they'll last me a while. Kids love finding foreign "gold and silver" coins in caches, especially if you pitch geocaching to them as a treasure hunt. Pic of the coins: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:GCA_Muenzen.JPG
  7. I'm not in charge of any of these, but thought I'd share the information: http://stxga.com/ (South Texas Geocaching Association site) is up and running and has up-to-date information, events, etc... The San Antonio Geocaching Association site is also up: http://www.sanantoniogeocachingassociation.com/default.asp This site contains past and present nominees and winners for the San Antonio Geocaching Awards. It's a good place to check out if you're new to the area or visiting and want to find the best caches around! There's also a Facebook page for the SAGA: http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=170520326687
  8. ...and now it's sold! Thanks all for your interest
  9. I didn't know about that deal at PCNation. Some people are hesitant to buy refurbished electronics regardless of the discount. I've had some bad luck myself with refurb stuff in the past. But if you're comfortable with refurb, by all means, PCNation appears to be a good deal. If you, however, want a 60CSx that was brand new 2 weeks ago and only been used once, let me know.
  10. I'm selling my recently purchased Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx. I only used it once for some geocaching so it works perfectly and has no scratches or anything. Unfortunately I need some cash so I have to sell it. I have the box and everything that comes in it. I'll also throw in batteries so you can start using it immediately. For full details (including what comes in the box), go to https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=310#featureTab The only difference is my GPS has an upgraded 1GB microSD card rather than the 64MB card listed on the site. One of the top-rated all time handheld GPS receivers for only $260 in like-new condition. Suggested retail is $399.99 but you can get them online for around $300. I'll ship it to you (insured) for free. Reply here, PM me, or email me at tpb711 AT GMAIL D0T C0M
  11. I'm selling my 60CSx, which I've used once, for only $250 with the box and everything that came in it. Let me know if you're interested!
