  1. They did not sign the logbook in the cache. Delete the posts and tell them to try again. Be nice, but for a "find" I thought you had to sign the logbook in the cache. Not place another cache just because you did not want to log a DNF. I'm heading back to "Kill this Post". I always show up after the action.
  2. Compliance Officer for an Underwriting Management Firm. I make sure our company is licensed in the states we write business in, we follow the laws of those states and use the appropriate forms, and we don't bone the insured’s. I have no idea what I'm doing. I only know no one; I mean NO ONE in the insurance field or this office wants my job. I can't quit because the money is to good, and they won't fire me because that means somebody else has to do the job. So I'm currently sitting at my desk polishing ammo.
  3. Girls and I just hit three hundred on West Side View and what a trip it has been. Thanks for all the great hides folks.
  4. Here is San Juan County Assessor's office website. San Juan Couty Aerial Link Click the "I Agree" it will bring a map of the San Juans up. To the right are the layers, one of which is "Aerial Photos" check the box then start zooming around the San Juans.
  5. Duh! I will close the post as I slink away...
  6. In the new forums format, where is the go to "First Unread Post" link. Or is it gone?
  7. I'm checking but it does not look good so far. It looks like the state has an Aerial Photograph department, but the images are provided at cost. You would have to check with the individual citys to see if the post their GIS/Aerial photos online.
  8. For cachers in Bellingham area who are interested in aerial maps for caching check out the City of Bellingham's GIS Map & Data Center homepage. GIS Map & Data Center Year 2002 has the best resolution.
  9. Don't change your name or "they" win. Once I figure out who "they" are, I'll drop you a line. Seriously, keep your name, you change it you will just get grief for changing it. If somebody is going to flip you grief for your name and the "implied" religious beliefs, then they are chuckleheads. I will qoute someone here:
  10. Exactly what I was looking for. I tried the highlight cut and past, must have done something wrong. Thank you, closing thread
  11. I'm tring to add a link to a cache listing (GCN26E) and I have several questions. When I cut and pasted the link for the tides from the web browser into the HTML listing, it showed up as gibberish after I submitted it, so when I got back in to re-edit the page I typed it in. What is the easy way to cut and paste so I don't have to type a 100 charecter string into the HTML listing? And what do I need to do to get the link to open in a new window? Thanks.
  12. I was going to change "Bellingham Boat Launch" and make it a little easier, then realized part of the fun is hanging your friend off the dock to get wet. So I decided to leave it. And Laurie already posted the cache so I don't want to make waves...get it! (Bellingham Boat Launch, boat, waves, I don't want to make waves...? Hello is the mike on? tap, tap.)
  13. I know I'm late in throwing out the big congratulations to Laurie on her 2,000th find. I've enjoyed her caches, enjoyed her logs, and receiving her e-mail hints (...look for something green...Said with a straight face as I look in the greater Pacific Northwest for "something green") so it is nice to see someone blaze through the big two thousand.
  14. I'm switching Bellingham Boat Launch out and bringing it a little closer to shore. The rubber gasket on the bison tube is shot from the saltwater, and I wanted it in play for the Bellingham Cache Machine. Hip/chest waders... How come I never thought of that?
  15. Do we give Half-Canadian and Scooter the Wonder Dog a pat on the back for cracking 1,900 last week? Or are we saving the thunderous round of applause for her 2,000th find?
  16. You know you are a geocacher when: You wash ammo cans in the bathtub. The only problem with this method is you can scratch fiberglass or enamel tubs. I now just take the ammo cans outside and dip them in a 5 gallon bucket of soapy water and scrub them with a green scratchy, rinse them off with the hose, then repaint using flat black, green or brown spray paint. Have never had a problem with ammo cans in the year I have been caching. No need to repaint, the repainting is just my personal preference. Down the road if somebody posts that the contents are damp, check the weather report for the last couple of days. If it has been raining, some people don't have enough sense to crouch over the can to shield the contents from the rain. So the next cacher may find a "damp" cache. Good luck in setting up your first cache!

The line runs West-East across the state a little North of Olympia.
  18. Trying to post a forum photo Calvin from "Calvin and Hobbes" holding a water balloon
  19. Outstanding! Just got your e-mail and it is good to know you walked away a free man! I think you should have posted a "Nudecatcher" picture in the courthouse holding the freedom ticket in front of your unmentionables. Of course most of my ideas lead me into trouble, so forget I said anything.
  20. I don't know if anybody has been communicating over the back channels but "San Juan Sunset" and "Hidden Identity" are time intensive multi's. "Jackson’s Beach" is tide dependant so make sure you check out the tide table for anything less then a +4 before going. There is no food service on the boats right now but they do have vending machines for coffee, candy, and soda. For those interested, the coffee machine makes the worst coffee in the world, so if you have a thermos, bring it. Good luck and good hunting!
  21. Thanks Laurie for a great event and I had a blast. It was nice meeting all the people and putting a face to a name and/or a cache. If I shook someones hand, blurted out who I was, then turned and walked away before you could answer, I was a little jazzed up at meeting some of the legends of NW caching and my manners are usually first to go. Or as my wife points out if I wasn't raised by wolves I would have manners. I want to personally thank all the cachers who have hid caches that I have found, you have kept me out of the house, and more importantly away from the "Honeydo" list for almost a year.
  22. I can't go but I grew up on San Juan Island (22+ years) and was over there last week to get my Dad's shotgun out of the Sheriffs evidence locker (long and funny story, Funny ha-ha, not funny bad), so if there are any pre-trip questions please feel free to send me an e-mail.
