  1. Thanks I wasn't completely sure of the spelling as I found a few different versions of it, but thanks for letting me know. I'll change it to the Norwegian spelling of Olav.
  2. Here is another of my new designs that will be coming out soon, the 'African Safari' Geocoin. These measure 2 inches high (shaped), 3mm thick with hard translucent enamels, one glow in the dark version, and a couple of 2 tone versions. They'll also all be trackable on geocaching.com with their own icon. Having lived throughout Africa for the majority of my life, I really wanted to make a unique African coin. Africa is also a continent well known for it's wildlife so I made it a slightly functional safari themed coin. The front features the silhouettes of 6 animals and an Acacia tree against a setting sun (under the translucent enamel), with Landrover tire tracks crossing the lower half of the coin. The back side of the coin (which actually looks quite similar to the shape of Australia) features 7 animals footprints/tracks, and more silhouettes of 2 lions under another Acacia. This side was based on a picture of animal tracks I got in Kruger National Park in South Africa when I was about 10, and have always had in my room since. Here is a preview of some of the sample coins that I received today. Luckily the sun (or moon) for the glow in the dark version can still be seen on the glow in the dark version. Larger pictures of all the samples can also be seen on my Facebook Group, but there will be some changes to some of them, and I might not order all the versions. Once I get the final coins I will post all photos of the final versions on here. I'm hoping to order them within about the next week, and hopefully will have them ready for sale around the middle of May from my webstore. I won't be doing reservations for these but will post more information about when they'll go on sale on here and my Facebook group closer to when I'll have the coins. I'm also planning on doing a cointest for these, but I'll post more information about that closer to when I'll have the coins too.
  3. Here is one of my new designs, the Viking Geocoin. These measure 2 inches wide (shaped), 3mm thick with hard enamels and will all be trackable on geocaching.com with their own icon. I got the idea for these as I'm heading to the Lofoten Islands in Norway soon on a photography trip during the midnight sun, and wanted to have a coin I could take with me to try and drop off there that had a slight Norwegian theme. I've also always liked the geocoins or travel bugs that are little characters or figures that are fun to photograph in different locations, and eventually came up with this design. The front is a vikings head, and the back are 2 vikings on a ship (with the mountains and sky behind based on the Lofoten Islands and the midnight sun). Right now there will be 6 versions (5 black nickel, 1 shiny silver) - each with a different hair/beard colour and different Viking name. Gunnar - meaning Warrior Olaf - meaning Ancestor Erik - meaning Prince/Ruler Ulf - meaning Wolf Magnus - meaning Mighty/Great Bjorn - meaning Bear Photos of the samples that I received today can be seen below - larger pictures can also be found on my Facebook Group I'm hoping to order these within the next week, and hopefully will have them for sale from my webstore around the middle of May. I won't be doing reservations for these, but will post more information here and on my Facebook group about when they'll go on sale closer to when I get the coins.
  4. I got a nice box full of new coin samples today I'll try and make new topics for each of them within the next day, with more information and photos.
  5. This was also my first coin, and probably still one of my favourites
  6. They will also come with custom bags - this is a sample photo I was sent today.
  7. Anyone that's been following my Facebook Group might have seen some of the small previews I've put up of this coin over the last few months, but now that I've recieved the first samples I wanted to share them here too (however they will need to be redone as they aren't exactly how I wanted them). This is the 'Aphrodite Geocoin' - a coin I've designed to celebrate my sisters wedding later this year, and as it's a special occasion I wanted it to be quite a nice big coin that could be displayed easily. So this is my largest coin so far, at 2.5 inches wide, 5mm thick and has a good weight to it (almost 85g). They will be trackable with the tracking information engraved on the edge of the coins - but there will also be some non-trackable versions just for the family that will have the date and location of the wedding engraved on the edge instead. The coin is named after Aphrodite, the Greek godess of love who's birthplace was believed to have been near Paphos in Cyprus, which is close to where the wedding will be. And the design is based around the colours, designs and theme of her wedding. On the back side are my sister and her fiancée's names, the date of the wedding and an inverted 3D Sand Dollar (the main design that has been used on the wedding invitations), though this part needs to be redone as it didn't come out properly. And on the front is a design mainly based on a Kanga (a large printed cotton garment meaning to close or wrap in Kiswahili, often worn by women and some men in East Africa). This particular design is meant to be a design that is worn for weddings from either from Kenya or Zanzibar. And these Kanga's are going to be used as part of the wedding decorations. The design is also slightly based on Guinea Fowl feathers - something else my sister has used in the wedding invitations, and in earrings she has made for the bridesmaids to wear. In the center of the coin is a blue gem, and all the white sections on this side glow in the dark - also in blue. I'm planning on probably getting 200 of these coins - though still need to work out the versions that'll be made. At least 150-175 of those will be trackable with their own icon. It'll still be a while until these are ready though, but I'm hoping to have them by July in time for the wedding.
  8. I got an AE Graffiti Gator coin in a trade today

    12-12-12 Geocoin

A few more versions have sold out and the others are down to the last 2-3 each, so I'll leave them at their reduced prices for a bit longer. I've got a few more designs in the works too, so hopefully I'll post information and photos of the samples in the next month or so.

GEOCOIN SALE (£2-£2.50/$3-$4 off all coins) : All the remaining 12-12-12 coins in my webstore are now on sale - to hopefully help fund part of my next coin which will be the largest coin I've designed so far. Some are down to the last 1 or 2 coins, and the sale will end on Monday (28th). I'll be posting a small preview of my next coin on my Facebook group on Monday too.

    12-12-12 Geocoin

All the coins have been sent out this week. So they should get to everyone in the next few weeks. There are still a few versions left if people still want them.
  12. I always use a mix ofPhotoshop and Illustrator. If you don't have those you should be able to download 30 day trials. I think Photoshop Elements is the cheapest version if you want to buy it, compared to CS6. Otherwise there are probably some similar programs like GIMP that are free to download, though I'm not sure what that's like to use. Or I have seen something similar to Photoshop you could use for free online, which you should find with a Google search.

Just a reminder that the sale starts in about 45 minutes from here.

    The Zebra Geocoin

Sorry - I thought I'd already put pictures up but must have forgotten. They do all look pretty similar unless looking very closely (the 2 green glow versions are pretty much identical, even when glowing), but here are all the versions including the colours they glow. And the sale will start in about 45 minutes from here.

The new versions are a blue/yellow and and a red/orange/yellow - I'll try and post photos as soon as I get them. And I'll post an update on the sale day and time but it'll most likely be 7pm Swiss time either Saturday or Sunday.

    12-12-12 Geocoin

The remint has been shipped today, so I should hopefully have them by the end of the week. I think there are 10-15 of each of the previous versions (apart from the glow in the dark), plus 2 new versions (30 each). If I have them before the weekend they'll probably go on sale from my webstore again, either on Saturday or Sunday with my new Zebra coins. Otherwise they'll probably go on sale early next week.

    12-12-12 Geocoin

Yes it's meant to have it's own icon. I've sent a couple of messages to check when it'll be uploaded to the website but haven't had luck with it yet. Hopefully after Christmas/New Year they'll get round to adding it, but it will have its own icon.

    The Zebra Geocoin

I've just ordered 100 coins - so hopefully will have those in January or possibly February. I won't do reservations on these this time as the numbers are quite small (5 versions with 16 coins, and 1 with 20), but will post a message about when they would go on sale from my webstore closer to when I'll have them.
  24. CW88

    The Zebra Geocoin

For now it'll be 100 total - probably between 15-20 of each version. And I'm aiming to have these on sale from my webstore late January.
