  1. Amen. There is no compression seal in a plastic or metal coffee container, (never saw a glass one), so all you have really is an oversized film can, with a low quality plastic lid that pops onto a low quality plastic body. While this might be a great way to collect rainwater in the forest, it's probably not such a great idea for a trinket & logbook storage device. Placing baggies in them might help, until the baggies get punctured. These things, (along with any other crappy plastic containers), should go into a recycle bin, not a forest. One of my most basic mottos is; if you must use a baggie to protect the contents of your cache, your container has already failed at a very basic level. Take pride in your hide. Don't use crap just because it's free. I use glass Coffee jars with v.good seals on them... I originally tested them for 3 days under water... not a drop inside!
  2. Argh! Off to Shrewsbury in the morning to do some geocaching, but the one I really want to do refers to something called a GPO.... what is that?? For specific reference/context, please see http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...y&decrypt=y (question 7, shrewsbury bridge) The question states 7 – SHREWSBURY RAILWAY BRIDGE "Shrewsbury railway station was built in 1848 and is unusual in that some of the platforms lie over the river, so are actually enclosed in this bridge structure. QUESTION 7 – It’s not on the bridge - but which numbers can you find connected to the GPO? _ _ / _ (M N / O)" All help appreciated! Need to get to bed to catch early train to Shrews!
  3. Hi GC's! This topic has probably been done plenty of times, but thought that this would be a good time to redo it! Post any ideas that you have for cache containers, with any helpful information, where to get things cheap etc. Personally, I have started collecting sealed coffee jars and blacking them out. They have a good seal on them and can hold a fair amount of stuff!
  4. Hi fellow GC's! Just tried to get myself a premium membership to the site, but the options are fairly limited! I dont mind the $10 for 3 months... and I probably will renew it again in 3 months anyway, but I want to make that decision myself. Is it possible to sign up for the 3 months and then cancel any following payments immediately? I hope there is, I like the thought of supporting the site and getting a few extras thrown in with it, but not having my arm twisted into it! Any help appreciated! Ty
