  1. Hello, Alameda Park in Butler, PA was an Amusement park in the early 1900's, but a lot of people in the area do not know this, I am wanting to try to get a historic GeoTrail established in Alameda to highlight the history of the park, and get more people there. I'd really like to include some kind of passport/reward system for donations that would go to the Park/Area Historical Society. If anyone has set up one of these and would like to give me pointers on how to get started it would be greatly appreciated brunobits@gmail.com
  2. Wish my surplus store weren't such idiots. When you can get Ammo cans he wants $12+ for a rusted non-airtight one, one on good condition he wants upwards of $20
  3. as a new member of B.A.C.O.N. (Butler Area Cachers Of Note), I have to say that team I have only cached with a few caches. my name was originally brunobits (Bruno last name Bits as in Computer BIT, I'm a tech Nerd) then switched it to my clown name Kaboodle The Great, so I could begin hiding caches with a clown theme/swag and promote myself as a children's entertainer. When caching with my Kids, I there fore use their clown names too, and sign the log Kit n Kaboodle and Aaahhh! on micros and nanos normally just log KTG
  4. 1st Time - Was looking for a micro in a small local park, while driving close to GZ I noticed someone else "trying to look inconspicuous" I made the "Didja find it?" chatted awhile and went our separate ways. 2nd time I was in my car outside of work about 200ft from a Lamppost Micro, and I see 2 young kids come up and lift the bottom of the lamppost I was parked near, I rolled down my window and told them it wasn't in that one, they then said "You know what we are looking for?" I pointed them in the right direction. The cache near my job is a place of great enjoyment for me as I watch people trying to look inconspicuous while lifting the base of a lamppost. I have met a few cachers while not caching, I was finishing up computer work for them. Asked permission to leech their wifi and pulled up geocaching.com to get an idea of local caches. haven't met too many at caches tho, looking forward to it.

  8. Hello, I have recently been bitten by the caching bug, my friends have the Garmin Etrex, which seems to do everything I need, I'm just tired of borrowing theirs, and I was hoping someone might have upgraded and has an entry level hand held GPS I could get for a reasonable price, really don't want to spend over $100. I Live in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Area, a local pickup would be awesome. Please let me know Brunobits
