  1. I had 2 finds when I placed my first hide. Now I have 109 hides. I think its irrelevant how many finds you have. Some of the best caches I have done are by newer cachers. If people don't hide then there is nothing for others to find.
  2. Hi Everybody, Does anybody have a list of international Fizzy Caches? I have been trying to track down one in Amsterdam with little luck. Thanks /FF
  3. The only real choice is that the triad is dead too... It would become a biad. Or is that a diad? Edit: It's dyad. In my note on the cache page I suggested calling it the Deuce, oops! Well, as long as it doesn't become a monad...
  4. Anybody want to buy an un-used ticket to Seattle? I don't need it anymore...
  5. Yeah, at a minimum, the A.P.E. cache part of the challenge doesn't seem too well thought out. Most of those A.P.E. caches didn't even last a year and only had a relative handful of finders. The one in Atlanta lasted a little longer and got decent traffic, 60 or so finders, before dropping out of sight in 2003. Two lasted until late 2006, the one in Chicago and the one in Maryland, so folks who were caching then had more of an opportunity. But anyone who has been caching for less than 4 1/2 years needs to fly to Seattle and Sao Paulo. Surprised it got past the reviewer. But whatever -- another challenge that won't be on our to do list. Though the Brazil A.P.E. cache is on our wish list...hmm... Bet they are rethinking it now.... Bye Bye Tunnel of light.....
  6. Couldn't help but be reminded of http://everyday.noahkalina.com/ That's kinda' creepy.....
  7. Agreed' But my cacher in question takes a picture of ALL caches, in location, regardless of the difficulty of the hide. In my opinion (and it is just that) he is disrespecting the C/O's by doing so.
  8. Not at all. This kills the fun for future finders. There is a cacher that is local to me that prides himself on taking a picture of every cache he finds and posts it with his log. Not to popular with the local c/o's.
  9. Or the dreaded: "I'm to good to do them" attitude.
  10. Ah Temagami! If you don't like rocks, avoid GC1138 Charlie's Cache Even if it is fairly easy. Doug 7rxc Wow.... What a spot for a hide.
  11. This is my favorite Clue... Cache: GCW9TJ Clue: Look in the rocks. Behind a big one
  12. Need some help here. I have looked EVERYWHERE! I am closing off my first 81' grid tomorrow and I am desperate to find a coin for it. Any ideas?
  13. This is a fantastic cache. The C/O is a bit sketchy, but he does good work.
  14. Thanks guys... And yes Geek... You are invited :-)
  15. A group of us are heading to Ottawa the first weekend in February to do a cache run. Any Ottawa residents have some recommendations?
  16. What a mess they have caused. This is going to be a nightmare.
  17. then they would also have to stop listing earthcaches, because they're an exception to the "no new virtuals" rule. Groundspeak chose to make an exception in those two cases. big deal. you don't have to participate in either of them if you don't like that. DFX, I could not agree with you more. Hence the ignore button.
  18. Really? I think souvenirs are a colossal waste of time. Congratulations… you have worked for the last year on a challenge. Here is a virtual stamp. Souvenirs really defeat the purpose of Geocaching in the first place which is to get out and go find a log book.
  19. I am still new to the game, but thus far I have really enjoyed the aspect of Challenge Caches. I currently have two challenge cached published myself. I think it adds another aspect to the game. I have found myself in some pretty interesting locations as a result of tracking down several odd combinations. Admittedly, the concept is not for everybody. But luckily Groundspeak added that lovely “Ignore” feature. What I will say is that I have paired up with several cachers that I otherwise would never have met as a result of challenge caching. That and I enjoy it…. So I win.
  20. Congratulations Avernar on qualifying for 81 Proof! Looking forward to the official signing in Great work guys! I am looking forward to the logs.... 39 squares left for me.
  21. Good luck guys. Enjoy the trip. Looking forward to hearing all the stories.
  22. You are right. I did enjoy myself on the power trai. BTW, your coords were great. Thanks for that. Never did I argue the validity of those caches. All I said was I did it, had fun, now onto bigger things (not better, just different). This is a challenge cache. I want to feel challenged. The fact that there are only a few of the combo's left adds to the fun for me. With respect to the rules around dates, I am following the guidelines as posted. I have never been offered a substitute that did not meet the criteria. I guess it's to each his own. That's what makes this game so interesting. There is something for everybody.
