  1. Go for it! I used an Etrex for my first 100 finds or so. Welcome to the addiction!!
  2. What is your question?? With my AT&T Blackberry, I have to "subscribe" to GPS service so I can have it take me to street addresses. I can't make it take me to a set of coords. Basically, it's like having a pay-to-use Tom Tom.
  3. Link to Owner Manual Link to web site
  4. For someone with more COlorado Experience than me, how do you find local waypoints such as nearby gas stations? I have loaded my old Mapsource maps a day or two ago but am not sure what to do from there.
  5. I just bought this car GPS on Ebay for just under $30. Anyone have experiences they want to relate concerning this unit?
  6. I have had this issue for months as well. I created a second email address with Gmail and I can now get both Gmail and hotmail on my Blackberry.
  7. Check out Ebay Item number 290302222808. You can charge your cellphone with this gadget using a AA battery.
  8. You can post a note to the cache page and ask folks to email you if they are watchers, but they don't have to let you know. It's up to them.
  9. I've got a Palm Zire over in the garage sale forum. Shoot me an email via my profile if interested.
  10. No in 2004 it read: Magellan...Don't you Wish You had Bought a Garmin?
  11. That is a possibility also. I would start out by emailing the last finder, though, and ask them what they logged. May be a terracache, letterbox, archived cache, puzzle final, multi final, or maybe even a new cache and the hider had his friends "beta test" the coords before he listed it on the web site. Many many possibilities!
  12. No, you need to find at least 136.57 more caches.
  13. Make sure the container is sturdy and is tied to a tree or something so that animals won't chew into it or high water won't wash it away. Other than that, be prepared for just a few visitors per yer as many cachers don't have access to a boat. Good luck!
  14. Sounds fun. Just make sure you list it as a multi cache since the log will not be at the posted coords.
  15. You can also post a note on an archived cache and use that as a place holder to upload all the photos you want.
  16. As a premium member you can get GPX files via pocket query or directly from the cache pages one at a time. Drag these into GSAK. You can then use "Send to GPS" in GSAK to send the files over. You will love the features of GSAK and pocket queries as you can filter out hard caches, caches with DNFs, etc. based on what you anticipate doing that day.
  17. I disagree with you. Dropping a trackable is helping it on its journey. The trackable has an owner just like the cache does. but in this case the cache & the trackable's owner are one in the same. OK? So a TB owner/cache owner is doing what he want sto do with his own caches and TBs. So what?
  18. Yes. As a premium member I get instant email notifications of new caches. I then can plug the coords into my GPS and go for the find. Then on to the GC site to log the find from the cache site.
  19. The AXIM has a good battery, cable, leather case, stylus, extra stylus, CacheMate installed, software, SD card. Owner manual is a PDF on Dell web site. Edit to add the Axim is WiFi capable. Log your finds from any WiFi hotspot! The Palm ZIRE will come with stylus and a charger as well as a cable for PC onnection. I believe I have paperwork also.
  20. Many of us get notifications when caches are disabled or enabled. Suggest you disable, change the date, and enable. Then post a note and change the cache listing to reflect the correct info. Finally, you might also call or email to make sure attendees know. See GC1JZTB which is another area event which changed dates.
