  1. I could not find a way to add required photos to the waymarks I just found. I guess my comment doesn't count as a visit either. I just read that. So how do I visit the waymark and post photos. The "owner of the waymarks requires one or two pictures for each waymark. I have those but can find no way to upload them on my Android phone. Seeking help. I've done it before but it has been awhile.
  2. I am having the same problem. I cleared out the cache info and data. Problem fixed! Thanks!
  3. I doubt it will make in difference but I will put in my two cents worth. I, too, would rather not see benchmarking go away or the challenges that encourage geocachers to seek them out. I live in a very rural area. Apart from a few caches that I am saving for a souvenir or whatever else may pop up, I have to drive over an hour one way to find a geocache. If my dog and I wish to go hiking closer to home we can search for benchmarks. Adventure Labs are generally placed in locations where a person drives up to them or close. This doesn't encourage hiking or quality time with my dog. I have found numerous benchmarks and enjoyed the challenge and exercise to find them. It has been fun finding benchmark named with unique names like HOCKEY at the Hockey Hall of Fame. I would rather see them handled like the labs. One gets credit for a find but it doesn't affect your D/T rating.
  4. Thanks much! I understand that!
  5. Has anyone else had problems with the website? I can't get in. It says that my account doesn't exist. Interesting since I have been caching for 16.5 years and have over 19,000 caches found. I changed my password that I have used since the beginning thinking that might be the problem. The bubbles says that there is not an account with my username nor email. When I try to sign up with that email it says that there is already an account with that email. I tried both on my desktop and on the app. I haven't done or written anything that should have booted me out. In fact, work has been so busy that I have little time for anything geocaching.
  6. It isn't just me!! Thanks other geocachers for reporting this. I don't have time to be without my computer right now. When I started checking other browsers I decided it must be Chrome. I only have problems with the search map. I can get the browse map but I am planning a trip and need that search map.
  7. I have a challenge that requires that I find all the caches in a county. What is the best way to check that challenge considering that I don't think the maps on geocaching.com have county lines.
  8. Bad timing for this series of souvenirs. I had to travel about 185 miles to find any number of caches that have over 20 favorties. Who knows how many miles I put on once I was there. Saw some fun caches. Right now I am trying to put together a series of challenges but I need to have a number of cachers that live in 150 miles of the challenge series. If I had 180-190 miles to play with it wouldn't be a problem to put together the series. That is how far away the urban area I had to travel to for the caches I found for the favorite points. It would be nice if that road could run both ways. For the event I'll need to travel at least 185 miles. That is the carnival event that is closest to me.
  9. Can anyone tell me what qualifies as a recent cache? I am sent a list of over 400 recent caches in The Logbook. I quit looking at it. Some of the caches date back to 2004 or earlier - not too recent in my book. I thought maybe it is "recently found", but then I found a cache in the list that is almost two years lonely. Some may be more. I made a very quick search. If is is a list of caches near me why isn't it named that. I could use a list of recent caches in case I missed one in my notifications. It happens. Just wondering.
  10. I am using an Android and still am unable to find the drafts though it has been mentioned many times when I open my app. I just log a ML log and edit it later. If it has been an active day I forget some of the cache details I wanted to mention. For the most part I use a GPSr and can write notes on it to save for later. I'd like that for my app when I am in a location that I didn't have the caches loaded into my GPSr.
  11. It is working this morning for me. It must be a Chrome issue. Nice to know I wasn't the only one. Patience is a virtue, but sometimes when things go away they don't come back such as Garmin Communicator on Chrome. Seeing new goals met encourages me to get out and to keep on caching.
  12. I did write that it does indeed work fine in Windows Explorer.
  13. Why do I get the above title on Google Chrome along with "You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied." for all geocacher's profile information under the dashed line? This is the information from Project-GC or other sources such as those generated by macros through GSAK. That includes my own additional information. It just began yesterday. I can see the information on Windows Explorer. I do get the statistics supplied by geocaching.com. Of course, it happened just after I found caches in a number of new counties for me.
  14. Not so easy for some of us. The closest one to me is 50+ miles away. That is over one hundred miles just to find a cache for that souvenir. With those kinds of distances to drive you hope you can find the cache.
  15. Guess I need to do an update. My babysitter on GSAK didn't tell me that. I have 8.5.1.39. Thanks for the screenshot guide. I knew it didn't but didn't figure that out yet. Got it solved. - See above.
  16. Thanks!!! Got it. Everyone's suggestions kept me digging deeper. I didn't have any filters set on the GPSr under Setup-Geocaching-Filter. It was automatically filtering the smalls out. Some caches that I thought were small were other so I thought some smalls were showing up on the map. I just set up a filter to filter absolutely nothing and all is working.
  17. Tried that. It didn't make any difference. The files that were already in the Montana have a .gpx extension so I figured that that is what I already was loading in it.I better keep an eye on my geocaching listing just in case.
  18. Thanks! I will try that! I had forgotten about the dumping of all the caches by the Montana until working on this issue. Hopefully by changing to the Montana 600 setting all the issues will be solved.
  19. All of you started me thinking. I have the same database from GSAK loaded into my 62s because the last time I used my Montana before this past trip the Montana dumped out every last cache. There was a message on the screen saying no geocaches were found. Check out geocaching.com for more information on geocaching. They were there when I was 60 miles from home ( I had turned the Montana on to determine if I had time for a side trip then turned it off); gone when I was 100 miles from home. I decided right then that I would never depend totally on the Montana. After I loaded my Montana, I loaded my 62s. There they are. All the icons are on the map of the 62s. Go figure.
  20. I found about 20 caches the size of the ones that the icons didn't show up for until I went to the list and touched the cache listing. The missing ones, the same size and type of the ones I was finding, were intermittently missing. I had two icons for caches the next one would be missing, there would be four more icons the next one would be missing. I went to the listing of nearby geocaches. There the missing cache was in the GPSr. I would touch it, go back to the map and now the icon was there. Just was wondering if anyone had such experiences.
  21. Sorry, I tend to lump mystery and other in the same category. Those are all mysteries to me until they are found. All I checked on were small.
  22. They were traditional caches. None were for premium members, though I am one. It was the first time it has happened, but I haven't done much caching with the Montana yet. I'm trying to make sure that issues I am having are largely cleared up once the snow is gone. It might be a one time anomoly. I'm hoping so.
  23. The zoom level was set at 8 miles and the caches were within 0.2 - 0.6 miles away.
  24. I ran into a issue with my new Montana 680 that I have not had before on any GPSr unit. I downloaded about 3800 caches into the unit then went out caching with a friend. Her Dakota showed caches by icons on the map that weren't showing up on the map on my GPSr along a trail that I had never been on. Thus, I knew that I hadn't found the caches. I looked at my list of geocaches and there they were. I would click on the cache in the list and the icon would show up on the map. That only happened to about an eighth to a tenth of the caches. It looked to me like I had all the caches showing up by icon as I looked at the map. They were traditional caches available to all. I would have missed a few caches on a trail that required a goodly walk had I not been with her. I wouldn't have wanted to walk the trail again for a few of missed caches. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas how to resolve the matter? Thanks
