Um.....I've never had my 60CSX shut off and its been through a lot of bumps, vibration, drops, etc. Sounds like maybe a loose connection??

What they said. I'm running a 32-bit HP Vista laptop along with a Palm m515 and everything works great.

Paperless caching with a Palm M515
Team_LPD replied to Jedi Cacher's topic in GPS technology and devices
Been using my Palm 515 and my Vista laptop for over a year with no problems, after Palm came out with a download that would work with Vista. -

I prefer the name of the cache over GCxxxxxx, because I can remember the name of a cache I want to do over the number.

MapSource / US Topo install on Vista
Team_LPD replied to JC_Geo's topic in GPS technology and devices
If you are using Topo 2008 it should automatically load to your hard drive. It did this on my desk top with XP and my lap top running Vista. -
New Computer with Vista can't download Earth, Why?
Team_LPD replied to CODAventure's topic in GPS technology and devices
Earth as in Google Earth??? If so, I don't know what your problem could be as I'm running Vista Home Premium on my laptop and Google Earth runs just fine. -
You can change the number at any time. If you hit "mark" and the number is something you don't want, just use the center pad to highlight the number, hit "enter", then change it to what ever you want.

I've had my 60CSX for close to two years now and never had an issue or problem with it. Everything works the way it is supposed to work.

Got any specifics? If I have to call Garmin support (gag!) and they suggest I upgrade, it isn't going to be very helpful if I simply tell them that 6.14 is "horrible". Did 6.14.1 address any of the issues that you're referring to? Do a search for v6.14 and you will find a quite lengthy thread. I am back v6.13 and plan on keeping it.

Do NOT update to 6.14 it is horrible!!!! Many of us had to switch back to 6.13 and we are all much happier.

Never heard of any weblinks on MapSource.

The RAM is rock solid and there is no vibration. I can be cruising down the highway at speed and the GPS is rock steady.
-
In the drop down menu pick either topo of CN, select the maps then upload them to your GPS.
-
The mount I have uses the twist lock suction cup. Holds a lot better than the Garmin model. I've had mine in place for most of the year and it has not come loose yet.
-
Get the Ram Mount.

Every week I get my PQ's sent to my laptop. I dump all the geocaches out of my GSAK databases. I dump all the geocaches from my GPS. I dump all the geocaches from my MapSource. I then download my PQ's into GSAK and use the filter to eliminate anything I don't want. I then send the filtered GSAK file to my GPS, and also to my Palm m515. Once the geocaches are in my GPS, I send them to MapSource on my laptop.

Does the Palm m505 work with windows Vista?
Team_LPD replied to snatiep's topic in GPS technology and devices
Yes, I have the m515 and also run Vista. There is a download from the Palm site you need to download and everything will work fine. -
60CSx Autorouting is very flaky with City Nav 2008
Team_LPD replied to gahboo's topic in GPS technology and devices
I have a GPS60CSX and it follows any routes I upload to it. Like the other poster said, I make sure I have plenty of waypoints added to make sure it follows the route I planned. Waypoints before and after turns, etc. -
How do you advertise Geocaching on your vehicle?
Team_LPD replied to Insp Gadget's topic in General geocaching topics
A geocaching license plate frame and this; -
Street maps don't "bog down" when you leave the road, they just don't have any detaill to show. I use City Navigator for urban caches and switch to Topo when I venture into the bush.
