  1. Erm.... I found the sick attempts at humour offensive and disrespectful too. J
  2. Erm.... Think I placed an order ... entered my email, house address and order quantity and that was it.... No payment or anything asked for....will we have to re-order and pay later or something then they are released? J
  3. This one was a typo I spotted from "View from Coombe Hill (GC171)" but made me smile...(It's also a bit rude, so turn away now if you don't approve) August 15 by Dan. (659 found) Was out walking the dog with my new g/f Lorna today and I decided it was time to introduce her to Lunch box hunting Think she was a little suprised when I came out of the bushes holding a large plastic container! Log book totally full so we just left our names with the green pencil, no pen anymore. I'm sure I'll be back up her soon so If no one else does it first i'll put a new notebook and pen inside. Cache is in good condition and still water tight, amazing since it's so old! This was my 5th visit here! cheers, Dan. [view this log on a separate page]
  4. Spotted this and wondered if he was after a cache, it doesn't say if he was carrying a GPS and a bag of Fast food freebies http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/north_y...ire/4133822.stm J
  5. Heh... No not at all... Just thinking of things I would try if in the same situation. Sounds like some kind of file association is not setup and a reboot should sort any of those out that are outstanding from the install. J
  6. Hi Si, 40 mins? Ouch.. You did reboot after the install completed? Cheers J
  7. What OS are you running? Did the install routine complete without error? I have the client running on XP and 2000 without problems. The icon should be trying to run PALM.EXE from the Program files\Palmone directory. Can you confirm this? Cheers J
  8. Leecee, emailed you for enlightenment J
  9. Uk Distributor? I just ordered mine direct from the website and it turned up in a couple of days... From Hong Kong no less! Top quality item, works well! And it's modular so I am making up some new phono connectors for it that will allow me to plug up my cars wired in Garmin 75 as well as being able to use the Etrex when out and about. Jon
  10. Hi StormyViking, I had the same problem, so now do two seperate extracts from GSAK. One of Found caches and one of Not Found caches (Just reverse the filter on GSAK). I then transfer each extract seperately to Cachemate, starting up Cachemate in between each transfer and then when Cachemate imports the entries you can direct them to whatever category you wish, Found/Not Found etc... Obviously if I Owned some caches I could do a third extract to get these. Once everything is imported into Cachemate, select the FOUND category and you can 'Mark Recs as found' to ensure they are flagged correctly. I know it's not a particularly gracefull technique, but it works, and if someone knows how to do it one extract/import then I'd love to hear! Best wishes Jon.
  11. New spots, yes how did you know, currently off work with em all over... J
  12. Oh dear... I've only been paperless caching for about 2 weeks now and already on several occasions I've found myself trying to tap the screen of the Etrex to choose options and on one occasions trying again before realising it wasn't a PDA! Doh!
  13. ** WARNING ** Way off topic, nothing to do with Geocaching, but kinda cute. Free screen cleaner (Please turn your sound up a bit before launching) http://www.legrady.hu/sc.html
  14. Hi Daleswalker, That was quick! It's yours if you want it... Just emailed you the details of it and a list of the other stuff you'll need to go paperless! Best wishes Jon.
  15. Hi folks, Following the discussion threads about paperless caching I bid for a Palm IIIxe from Ebay that arrived yesterday! However when I mentioned this to a friend he gave me his old Palm IIIxe as he had upgraded. So, if anyone wants a PalmIIIxe and docking cradle before I put it back on Ebay, let me know. Cost me 16UKP, will let it go for 15UKP, including postage. Now, off to play with getting my Pocket query into the Palm... Cheers Jon
  16. Dakar! www.dakar4x4.me.uk Oh... sorry, 30mpg, thought you said 3mpg... The Nissan Terrano Diesel is driven by a friend of mine and it achieves very good MPG (for a full size 4x4) of 38 mpg J
  17. Pic 1 is the Hudson Family... I guess we finished the film if we are picture 1.... Sorry, didn't realise or I would of dropped a note to you... Cheers J
  18. I figure a Jeep 4x4 is used in the US to signify the adventure/exploration element of Geocaching? So if it's to be a UK Kit manufacturers.... then it could be a 4x4 one also A Land Rover based, UK designed and built dakar 4x4 then Although hardly iconicly British. J PS - TVR is Russian owned!
  19. Erm, Yeah, British built by Maurice Wilks but based on a Willys Jeep ... Still very much a British Icon though!
