  1. Never used him, so can't comment... However, if you're ever back this way, just around the corner at: - 52°32.587'N, 0°18.515'W is where you'll find Karla's Kitchen, a similiar emporium, and heartily recommended (although I guess not technically good for your heart). Probably the best fried food this side of Betelgeuse! Their Bacon & Sausage baps are as big as your head and will keep you going all day! Enjoy, I do Jon
  2. Ahh... yes... Beckingham! I now see the actual co-ords for that one are further back on one of the CO's early logs, they moved the cache and simply posted a note to advise the new co-ords, rather that actually changing the listing... I've posted a Needs Maint to get it fixed. I work just over the road from there and I'm guessing a seller of all things fried is your prime suspect? Cheers, Jon
  3. Now be honest... it was only flat at the bottom! J
  4. GSAK 8 BETA using the API is lovely and fast J
  5. I thought it's only paying customers that can create the challenges? If so, the balls already in the court of those that pay! J
  6. It's probably got less to do with the update, and more to the "International day of Geocaching" with lots of folks all trying very hard to get their logs in for a souvenir? J
  7. Just got into my profile at long last and selected "Quick View"..... ...it wasn't Jon.
  8. I'll be using the words "Mostly Harmless" on my cache containers, as although I know the contents were harmless when I placed it, who knows what other folks have left in it since? Jon.
  9. *VERY* interested. Thanks Jon! I'll be adding others as I find 'em. And always open to suggestions for others to add Cheers Jon
  10. I may be a bit late asking this, but anyone know what the "extreme" cache was that they showed? It looked fun and I'm in Wales at the end of this month for some minor event! Not sure what it was, but I do know it's been archived so no longer do-able I'll have to have a search around the area and see if there is anything similar that looks as exciting! Slowly building a list Bookmark if it's any interest? Jon
  11. What AW said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ rocks! Where do I sign? Jon
  12. Ohhhh..... Nice one Cassandy ;-) Where's offering the best deals? Anyone ordered from the us? Jon
  13. I'm always very suspicious of the figures that are bandied about in situations like this. The police and army are being paid anyway regardless of whether they're doing this or something else. The cost an accountant works out based on hourly rates and the use of kit, etc might come up to this figure, but I doubt much, if any, actual money changes hands anywhere. I suggest they send the bill to Ayman al-Zawahiri, care of Al-Qaeda. J
  14. As long as it's not a Challenge cache, where finding the cache and signing the log doesn't count unless you've met other criteria... Jon
  15. Leaving a lunchbox would be an accident/oversight (unless they were marmite sarnies ) Leaving a Geocache would, I would like to think, be intentional. J
  16. I think the police just want to cheat and be told the final locations of all puzzle caches without messing about with all that tedious puzzling stuff. J
  17. If this is the local Police reaction to one person acting suspicously in Wetherby near some tupperware, it's probably best nobody tries to arrange a Geocaching flash mob there! J
  18. Thinking aloud.... does the cache finder with the record now have any grounds for recompense from the cache setter? If so, that can set quite a presidence for all CO's out there! J
  19. Is it the "lurking" or "suspicious" bit that's the problem? J
  20. kingqueen, thanks for your note With the risk of criminal charges is it really worth hunting for a physical hide in a urban location? Not so long back a few caches were published near me at a local airport, despite the caches having permission I ended up bumping into armed police who had been tracking my movements around the series. It doesn't matter how well you sell caching, in this day and age security will always take priority no matter how petty the reasoning may seem. What is it they could actually charge you with? Jon
  21. Hah... Wonder how many 'internet treasure hunters' have visited the cafe and brought in extra business? J
