  1. I have an Oregon 450t and the app was preloaded into the GPSr. I went to Garmin's website and looked through the manuals for both your unit and mine. The manual for the 450t/550t mentions Wherigo. The manual for the 650t does not. Maybe a call to Garmin might be in order. Maybe they have a work around. Or maybe they just decided not the support the Wherigo feature any more. I don't recall seeing Wherigo caches on there geocaching website at www.opencaching.com.
  2. As I read through the posts about the new search page, I saw more than a few complaints about events being hard to find. Here's an idea: Why not add a page to the website using a map that would be just for events and clubs. This page could be dynamic in the sense that the events would be posted on the map when they are added and self delete when the event expires. This same map could be used to show where club are located or are going to meet. Just like geocaches, a user could click on the icon, download coordinates to the club location or click a link to the club's homepage to get more information.
  3. Although I do not use it very often, I do like the new search option. I like the interface. I like the filter options. Over all, I do think it is an improvement to the website. Truth be told I probably will not be using it very much simple because I like to pull up the map and search for caches in my area or the area I am currently located. With the GPSr that I use, it is a simple click on a cache, then click to send to the GPSr, then out the door we go. Keep up the good work.
  4. This is a paraphrased reprint of an article from the Lake Tahoe Tribune: The date is being withheld for the protection of the Geocacher. It seems that this young lady was out looking for a cache near Zephyr Cove on Lake Tahoe, Nevada side, when she came across a large tin. Thinking that the cache might have been a TB hotel she opened it only to find a kilo of cocaine and $100.000 in cash. Doing the correct thing, she called the police. The authorities staked out the "cache" caught the owner of the drug hide. Now that is what I call CITO.
  5. After reading everyones replies, I am a bit disapointed with Magellan. I did send them an email and the next day received thier response which pointed the finger back at Geocache.com. Good thing the Triton 300 was on clearance. Once again, buying something on clearance becomes a disapointment. Although it works well, there are features I wish it had. It is starting to look like Delorme might be my next choice. Thanks for the comments.
  6. Good Morning, I was wondering why, when I click on the transfer to GPS icon, that my only two choices are Garmin and Delorme? I use a Magellan Triton 300 and would like to have the same ability. If you can link to Garmin or Delorme's external software to transfer data, why not link to Magellan's Vantage Point software?
  7. The interface works on my Blackberry Curve 8330. I would suggest that you place an option for a address and not just a postal code or coordinates. The reason being is when I was in South Lake Tahoe, the results were telling me that the closest GC was 20 miles away from my location. When I returned home, I checked the website and discovered that there was a GC just 250 feet from the location I was at in SLT.
