  1. I'm having an issue with the expandable map on the cache page. The interactive map closest to the bottom. I can't get it to enlarge or give cache details or anything. Any suggestions?
  2. Can anyone remind me how to get cache coordinates after you get a text message about a new cache listing? You reply with the GC Code I know that much, but I'm sure I'm missing something else! Thanks
  3. Is there a feature where you can search for the NEAREST webcam cache, Wherigo cache earth cache ect? I would be willing to travel to some of the caches that you can't find around my area but i don't know how to locate the nearest type of cache. Thanks, Buddhistmonk
  4. I think Geocaching.com should have and advanced trail feature for premium and non-premium members that shows the trail systems through towns, ran by local park boards, on the Geocaching.com maps. Such as The Green Way trails in Springfield Mo. or river walk trail in Ozark, Missouri ect. This would aid handicapped cacher's in accessing locations and caching in general. What do you all think? Feed back is appreciated!

    Stats Log

How do I create a stats log, and have it show the caches I have already found? Then how do I post it to my GC.com Profile? Thanks, Buddhistmonk
  6. No disrespect but this goes against what geocaching is all about, which is just being outside and enjoying the great outdoors! Geocaching is a great tool to get kids back outside and away from the T.V and the last thing we need to be doing is promoting it as a video game! On day's that there is to much snow for me to go caching I grab my GPS unit and hit the trails and scout out new places to drop caches when the weather is a little more forgiving, and that is exactly what we need to be teaching our children. Not "The weather is bad so here's a video game, go babysit yourself for a few hours" I will grant you, it is a neat idea. However it goes against everything I believe in as a geocacher and wouldn't support the game.....And I'm just guessing but I bet there are plenty of other people that feel the same way.
  7. I have a Garmin Oregon 200 and am wondering how the field notes work? Once I log a field note how do i upload them to gc.com?
  8. Thanks for the info! I've got it now. Once I get an E-mail that a new cache is out it will send me a text message. Then I text 41411 and enter the code "GEOC ?Waypoint name" (Minus the quotes) and I will get a text back with the coordinates.
  9. I was confused by that too, but his tadpole status apparently over rides his premium member status. Hey, if you're still reading this, now we can hook you up with receiving the cache coordinates via another text message. You won't get a cache description or hints though. What do you mean? There's still another way to do it? No. I mean if you're sitting at a computer, and you get a cache alert email, you still have to go to geocaching.com to get coordinates for the cache. If you're away from a computer, and want to do this all within the realm of text messaging, you can text GEOC ?GCXXXX to 41411 with (GCXXXX) being the format of the waypoint name you receive in the cache alert email. You will instantly receive a text message response with cache name, terrain/difficulty, size, and coordinates. No cache description though, that's too long for text messaging. official Groundspeak instructions here. So GEOC would be the name of the Cache that just posted and I would email that to 41411?

  11. I put them on by clicking on "Send to GPS" on the Cache Site then when my GPS Communicator came up I clicked "Write to" and "Garmin Oregon"
  12. I'm wanting to know if there is a way to delete the "Found Caches" off my unit? If I can't, will it use up all the memory on the unit? I have logged 100 caches, so far and am wanting to clear them off it at all possible?
  13. I called verizon and they told me that on the watch log that i set up i would have to enter myphonenumber@vtext.com and I would get a text within a min or two of a new cache e-mail. Thanks for your help guys. Now, maybe i can get a FTF lol.
  14. Yeah, you will. I have a Garmin Oregon, which is alot like the Dakota 10 and I just updated to the premium membership. All my past caches have no hints or logs attached to them and will need to be DLed again.
  15. Okay i kinda understand what i am looking at: Phone carriers and e-mail addresses but don't figure out how to out the info you gave me to make it work
  16. I would say it's up to those who try and that's why attributes are helpful. There is one in my area that is under a bridge 20 foot up and I'm scared of heights so I'm obviously not gonna attempt it. All caches are at the discretion of the cacher, so you cache at your own risk
  17. Is it possible to get a TEXT Message the second a new cache comes out? If so how do you do it? I already chose to be e-mailed when new caches come out in my area but some people in my area are recieving a text message the second a new cache comes out and logging the FTF. How do I register for this feature, so I can score the FTF lol?
