True-
But there is a line above the cache logs on every cache page that reads, "Warning. Spoilers may be included in the descriptions or links"
If someone doesn't want to, they don't have to read the logs.
Often times, if we think we need some more hints, we'll look at other cachers log entries.

Found "Winter Cache #1" yesterday in CT. Am really surprised there weren't more cachers out, it was a nice day!

Jinxee Cat, where are you? I love you!"
Sorry, couldn't resist!!
-
meant to say "GeoSharks"

They are the same exact chips that are pictured in the Sharks post. Got them in Sept/October 2002.
-
Thanks for the clarification-- Oh well-- Certainly would not have ordered them if I knew it was a no-no. Figured that since Crusso was able to order them originally all was OK.
I guess we won't be so liberal in trading them now.
Also, thanks for the answer regarding the stepbrother thing. If your Garbage man is named Don, say hello from Al in CT!
Happy caching!

I'm a bit confused.. When you say "founder" do you mean Jeremy of Geocaching, or Crusso, the original designer of the chips?
We had no problem getting the chips. The company suggested we contact Crusso and gt permission to use his design. We did and they made them up for us. Sad if we can't get anymore of those. Oh well, maybe we'll have to start hoarding them.
Also, have a stepbrother in New Port Richie FLA. Don, is that you?

The company that makes the Geochips is www.pokerchips.com.
The minimum order quantity is 300.00 cost was around $275.00 I think.
If you want to get some made using the same printing as Crusso's chips, would suggest contacting Crusso and getting permission from him, as he is the one who designed the chips.
We asked before placing our order and he said it was OK. Glad everyone seems to like the chips.

Tim, a member of our three person group, has a real Geocaching Tattoo on his side. It is around 5" X 6", really big and the artist did a great job! Some of the people at the GPS Goldrush photographed/videotaped it. Once we get a digital camera, will post a pic here. It seemed like it horrified some people at the Goldrush!

The person I spoke with said they did not know if the hunt was still on. Will try again later, hopefully I'll get a different person with better info. Sounds like fun

I'd trade for it. Actually, we had a cache hunt where the bee sting cream would have come in handy!
-
It seems that whenever a topic comes up regarding trade items there are many cachers who say "I never trade, it's all about the hunt, you can't get rich from trade items, etc."
Agree that it is great to get out in the fresh air, have some fun with friends and family, and fun to find the cache regardless of what is inside,
But... we LOVE the trading part. I take something (if there are tradables) from every cache we visit. We like the idea of having a momento of each cache we visit, be it a sticker, coin, golf ball, or a real treasure like Planet's ornaments or one of TTepee's (hope I got the spelling correct) totem pouches. Another reason why we like trading is that we enjoy being on the lookout for cache trade items when we are out shopping.
It seems like some cachers almost want us to feel guilty about trading. A few that I've spoken with even regard themselves as "purists" because they simply find the cache and sign the log. One group even refers to themselves as the "TNLN Gang."
Should we feel quilty about enjoying the trading aspect? C'mon, who else likes trading?

Hi Dave, tried to send you and email, but your user name is not being found.
I love the idea of the Smokey Bear/ Woodsy Owl items. Since you're out in CA., I figured the East coast caches could use some of these.
I found the Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl website, but only "authorized" individuals and groups can purchase the items, and need a password to do this.
Does this seem odd? Why wouldn't they give everyone the opportunity to buy these? The way I look at it, the more education regarding fires and litter the better.
Do you have another source? If you are an "authorized" buyer, how did you become one?
Thanks,
Al (of Ct Trampers)

The only thing we avoid are virtuals

Is it legal to be in the area of your "Cathedral" cache at night, or does the area close at sunset?
Thanks....
We enjoy caching at night, sometimes it is the only time we can do it.

"It appears this could actually have been posted and hunted as three different caches.
My question would be why was it set up as a single cache?"
--Yes, each part of this multi is a cache with logbook and prizes.
We just thought it would be nice to have some prizes in each stage of the multi, rather than just coordinates. If cachers only have time to do one part, they get a little reward for their efforts. The final cache has the best contents,(at least in our opinion) being the ultimate goal.
The caches could have been listed separatley, but we wanted to have cachers get a grand tour of this area, which they will if they hike from one stage to another.
-
I would say no find. You went to the cache site, and couldn't find it. What is the big deal with having a "frowny face" anyway? If you couldn't find it, you couldn't find it--
Also, Logging a "no find" may prompt the owner to take a trip out and see if it is gone or not.
-
One of our caches is a multi. In order to find the final cache, one must find two other caches, each containing 1/2 the coordinates to the final cache.
A cacher logged a find after only finding the first part of the multi. I did not delte the log, but sent the following message to the cacher:
"Hello XXXX-
Saw your note on the "XXXXXXXX" cache.
This being a three part multi-cache, you are not supposed to log a find until all three parts are found. I have made a note of this on the cache page today, 11/18 for future cachers. Will not delete your log, just wanted you to know. I don't mean to be nit-picky, but it is unfair to the person who spent the time and energy finding all three.
Happy Geocaching-
XXXX (Of Ct Trampers)
Am I being to picky? It seems to me that the cachers should have just posted a note, not a find.

Hope Blue makes his way down here--

Went caching 11/10/02 in NY with my wife and brother in law. We pulled off 20+ ticks bewtween the three of us.
Can't wait until there is some snow.

www.stupid.com. Some cheap stuff, some not so cheap. A lot of interesting and unique things that make good cache items, IMO.
-
I guess I DO have the option to search by State.
Was getting the endless loop too, but now I see it works.
I now officially have nothing to complain about.
-
Would like the option to be able to see all the caches in the state.

Thanks for the update. Ordered two stone ones. One for the head and one for a first finder prize in a cache we will place. It is indeed time for a new one, my green one is getting a bit, er, salty!
