Folks! I guess in common with many of you, losing and having to replace a GPS will impose a financial strain, so I need some opinions on how best to attach the GPS - in my case the Magellan Explorist 210 - to me. I already have a collection of lanyards; some with with wide, strong straps, but they all have a weedy "safety" plastic connector at the end. The Explorist 210 has a fairly small hole at the end so I don't think I could put a split-ring through it. I was considering maybe a sea-fishing snap swivel which I could then attach to a strong lanyard. Any ideas?

Heyup! My name's Peter and I'm I was a lurker I'm also a noob. I'm currently based in Guildford, Surrey, UK. I discovered 'Caching on New Year's Day and am now hooked. As I normally spend most of my time joined at the hip to one sort of computer or another I thought this would be an ideal way to get out into the countryside and indulge my techie-ness at the same time. With a bit of luck I'll be hiding a cache next month so if you're in the Guildford, Surrey area please look out for it.. I'm finding the forums very friendly, and thankfully mostly free of the "RTFM" attitude on many sites - that does a lot to encourage people to keep coming back and it gives a great community feel as well. I'm using EasyGPS on Karmic, with the help of Sun Virtualbox and a (legal) copy of Windows XP
