  1. I just tested this, changing a .046 to .047 without any problems. I suggest trying it again, and if it still doesn't work, contact your reviewer. When changing it, be sure you are using the Update coordinates log under Admin Tools.
  2. Your best source for information on puzzles is the creator of the puzzle. Most COs are happy to give some help.
  3. Of course, like the 14 people before me did.
  4. Sometimes, when "kindness" has been repeatedly ignored, something a little more forceful is called for. I was not mean at all in my NM log, just straight-up factual. The only difference between my log and all the others was that mine was NM.
  5. This brings back to mind a cache that had coordinates that were way off (70 ft and in someone's fenced back yard) which had been commented on (in Found logs) 14 times over two years and completely ignored by the CO. I made my comment in a NM log and started a whole s***storm which culminated in the CO writing me into the cache description as a complainer. The cache started out as an ammo can and has degraded to just a gallon-sized zip lock bag, which may even not be there anymore either.
  6. I couldn't help noticing that you didn't say that you replaced the cache where you had found it. You did, didn't you? And does "got a job" mean anything in regard to the cache, or did you just mean that you are now employed somewhere or other, or are you just spouting nonsense?
  7. In case it''s not obvious from the above, deleting a trackable log does not undo the action.
  8. Good to know. Marked this thread to follow, in case my old Montana 600 starts acting up.
  9. Almost exactly the same. In a computer class where the instructor was boringly re-explaining the basics to some of the students , I logged onto Geocaching and the guy next to me said, "Are you a geocacher?"
  10. I kinda do this on My State Travelers. When I get the notification that it has been placed in a cache, I look for what new states need to be added.
  11. After considering all the advice and possibilities, I finally decided to go with buying the up to date City Navigator North America NT. Thanks to all for your input.
  12. See where it says "Found by me" and <Found by MyUserName>? Click on either one of these to remove it and TaDa there's your finds in chronological order. Does this make any sense to anyone????????
  13. My new favorite is Longest distance between two caches found on the same day = 831.29 miles (1330.06 km).
  14. I have it on a DVD from 2013. Thanks for pointing me to Garmin Express-- it can't hurt to ask them.
  15. I have a Garmin Montana 600 with Garmin City Navigator North America NT maps installed. Unfortunately I didn't install all of North America, only the central part of the US, and I no longer have the computer I used to install it. Last year when I went to the Pacific Northwest, I didn't have routable maps on my GPS, but fortunately I had sufficient cell service to use maps on my phone. And the GPS still worked when I was near enough to the cache not to need the map anymore. This year I'm going to New England and southeastern Canada and don't know if I'll have good cell service everywhere. I know there are maps that I can download, but my question is what would be the best map, easy to download and easy to use. Free is preferable, but I don't mind paying for it, if that's the way to get the best map. Thank you all for your advice--you haven't let me down yet. Nancy
  16. The cache is not just the container. The cache is a container in a specific location. Moving a container to a new location is most definitely a new cache.
  17. I did this once - the cache was in the guard rail next to a very busy road in a commercial area. There was plenty of litter to be picked up.
  18. What to tell people: You have to consider each situation on it's own. If the people seem hostile, "Just taking pictures of the plants, or insects or whatever" works well. If the people just seem interested you can explain geocaching to them. Law enforcement: Always the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
  19. I disagree. Or at least don't give a hoot about "etiquette". Go ahead and make a copy, laminate it and send it out.
  20. I'm wondering why you want to delete your old finds. If you want to be able to refind the same caches again, you can delete the logs (or change them to Notes) and then relog those finds on a case by case basis. Or you can simply start a new account and leave the old one as it stands. (I think you'd need a new email address.).
  21. I had a series of caches which I placed about 4 at a time, but submitted just one at a time, each after the previous one had been found. I did this specifically so that more cachers would have a chance at the FTF. Personally I much prefer to be 2TF, after someone has already done the Beta testing.
  22. Wow! Talk about learning something new! All these years I never knew that those Cache Names were clickable and would give a list of all caches included. (Except GPS Adventures Exhibit)
  23. I am trying to locate/create a list of all the ALs I have found. My Profile shows 91 Lab caches found but I could only locate 89. How can I find which 2 I am missing?
