  1. You're responding to a 3 year old thread and not answering the question that was asked.
  2. Premium Member 4415 Found it 09/27/2020 Didn't actually find the container but since it was supposed to be easy and there have been a few DNFs we left a new container where we thought it should be......not in the middle of the west bound lane! If this is totally not where it should be , please delete this log View Log Premium Member 4156 Found it 09/27/2020 GPS put us in the middle of the road. Left replacement cache as close as we could. View Log Premium Member 10 Didn't find it 09/06/2020 Pretty sure we found an old bottle that used to be a chache, long gone now View Log NanCycle Premium Member 3594 Didn't find it 06/03/2020 I found what might have been the remains of a cache.

    Error 500

I just got this same message when trying to create a new PQ.
  4. And library books are seldom left out in the weather.
  5. Yes, the expression is correctly used. If you lie to the reviewer about it being buried, be forewarned--when I find it I will out you.
  6. Even before they have any visible signs of cracking they are not water-tight. I am talking about the black cans with the gray lids; the translucent ones with the inset lids might be better.
  7. Yes I was wondering about the ones sold on geocaching.com, because the standard film cans that I used to get and that are still being used for caches are not at all. I just found a series of four of these caches and all of the. logs were wet.
  8. The O-rings that come in the match containers don't last very long, but you can buy better ones at a hardware store.
  9. Are these containers water-tight? The original film canisters are NOT!! My test is to put a piece of tissue in it and run it through a dishwasher cycle. If the tissue is still dry, it's water-tight.
  10. Film cans are not even close to waterproof; much better options are the match containers, preforms (petlings) and diabetes test strip containers.
  11. Three DNF logs (mine was the first) then this: Premium Member 2333 Found it 11/20/2018 Randomly ended up at this hotel for the night. Imagine our surprise to find it had a cache and a letterbox right outside. Left a replacement notecard, it's all we had. Then six more DNFs, then the CO replaced it.
  12. Many of them could be moved a few hundred feet without really changing the experience. The puzzles I would be less likely to move, because I'd have to redo the puzzle. Many of my containers are nothing special--many of the ones that were ammo boxes were stolen and I replaced them with lesser containers. (Your smoking problem gets no sympathy from me.)
  13. I have many caches in my local area. If someone were to ask me to make room for them to place a special cache, I probably would agree to do it. (Another cache for me to find!)
  14. Why have waypoints that are hidden completely? Are they hidden from everyone except the CO?
  15. Member 1 Found it 06/03/2018 Found the 2 refectors but not sure if there was an actual "stache"?
  16. I have sprinkled dirt, crushed leaves, etc in wet paint on cache boxes.
  17. Excellent !! Yes this is a problem that needs a solution, and I think your proposed solution is a good one.
  18. Premium Member 6985 Found it 08/19/2018 Got to final but no container to sign
  19. I do not experience this issue. My only complaint is that it's too frequent.
  20. All three of these extendable handle tools are in my everyday kit which is a small fanny pack. The red one is made as a back scratcher but works very well for grabbing onto wires, strings, etc. In case it's not obvious the others are a magnet and a mirror. I do have larger tools also, that stay in the cachemobile until needed.
  21. I hate to be a downer here, but sooner or later someone is not going to return it to it proper location.
  22. So much for the "wilderness rangers" removing them from the wilderness.
