I would be very careful on your pro active stance, I remember many years ago a paper boy on a bike kicked out at a dog that ran up to him barking and the law decide against the paper boy because he attacked first. Whilst most responsible dog owners have insurance for vet bills do you have anything?

not a nice incident, hope it dont put you off dogs totally.its one reason we have insurance on our dogs they are two "softies" and would never bite but you never know.maybe its time dogs were licensed again and insurance mandatory.

Hi, i just bought the cheapest gps off ebay i could afford and will upgrade when i can. Most gps come ready supplied with some kind of basic map.

battery level was ok but changed them anyway. With new batts sats were found eventually but slower than norm.

When I switch my gps on (Garmin etrex vista) it does its usual sat search and within 5 mins I'am off huntiing. But just lately and not every time its has not been able to locate any sats, do I have a faulty gps or is it normal not to locate sats sometimes. Normally i would blame the weather but its clear blue skies most of the time. Tom

Thanks Birdman i'll give that list a read and put a bunch together to try. Scratching around in bushes looks odd when your on your own, but with a poo bag in hand you get away with a lot more. LOL
