  1. You're certainly going in the right direction. Billboard didn't even start a hit parade chart until 1936.
  2. Who was the first solo British artist to have a No.1 hit in America? Richard
  3. Unless i'm mistaken, isn't it where the Ice Hockey was played during the Winter Olympics that year? Richard
  4. Having had my sister in law over here for lunch, I asked her as she is in the medical profession, and she thinks they are rat snakes.
  5. Absolutely correct, however, I feel cling film was close enough. Have a mini Dinglet. Richard
  6. DING!! And what is wrong with doing The Times crossword???? It keeps my breakfast company most mornings.
  7. That's 2 questions!! Was it champagne corks in the 1600's? Nope, nothing to do with champagne, and more recent too. Too difficult?? He invented said item in 1908, and it is food related. Richard
  8. That's 2 questions!! Was it champagne corks in the 1600's? Nope, nothing to do with champagne, and more recent too.
  9. For me anyway, logically if in the 10Km zone, I wouldn't go out walking on the footpaths etc. In a time like this, the risk, however small, just isn't worth it. If that meant I couldn't go and do a few caches in a particular area for a while, so what. A bit of care now should pay dividends later.
  10. Nope Well it started in 1903 so I guess they did a really long stage the first time out, then thought it was too long and haven't done one since.....so 1903 Nope
  11. Ok, too difficult. Can you tell me in which year the longest stage of the Tour de France was held?
  12. Mid 40's too and I only use good old proper measurements. None of this decimal stuff here. Even my extending steel tape has been brought in from the US so only has inches on it. Much easier to read as the printing can be a bit bigger. Just been into the kitchen to get coffee and had a look at the kitchen scales, date stamped 1899. And they still work, unlike just about any set bought today in 100 years. Richard
  13. Cycling. In which year was the longest ever stage of the Tour de France held, how long was it, between which towns, and who won the stage? Richard
  14. An English motorcycle racer was the first to win World Champoinships in 125cc, 250cc and 500cc classes. 1) Who was he? 2) What make of motorcycle was he riding? 3) What year did he win his first 500cc World Championship? and if you can tell me the town of his birth, you'll get an bonus point! Ok.... probably too hard He was riding a Yamaha in the two smaller classes and an MV Agusta in the 500cc class. He won his first (of two) 500cc World championship in 1973. Can anyone tell me his name? Phil Read
  15. 1 the match 2 he'd suffocate 3 only 4 pence more 5 everest Isn't 3 more to do with decimalisation, so the 1969 penny is 1/240th of a pound and the 1973 penny 1/100th of a pound. Or am I going for the too obvious?
  16. Mont Blanc? Kilimanjaro, Mt McKinley, Everest, Haven't got a clue about antartica Now that would be Vinson Massif.
