  1. +1 for me too. I loved the old maps and I can't stand the new maps. Please, please, please! I can't express how much I loathe the new maps.
  2. I agree with ray461 on this one. The new maps are horrid! Please give us an option to get the old maps back! At least make it an option for premium members.
  3. I would re-log it, stating that I had signed the log book. Maybe even attache the photo. If it is deleted again, contact Groundspeak, and have your log restored and locked. There realy does not need to be any drama involved. I sent a PM to the owner trying to patch things up. Hopefully that will work. If not, I will contact Groundspeak as you suggest. In case anyone is following this, you'll be happy to know that the cache owner and I have resolved this amicably. Thanks for everyone's advice. Now, not to be rude, but I'm getting the heck out of this forum and going to find some caches!

  5. I'd ask the owner. Life happens, we don't all have the time we would like when cache duty calls. Not all of us ask for help from the community but an offer would be appreciated. The owner can give you the detailed clue on the hide that will make you 100% sure it's actually missing. As for the second. It's probably cheezy but...what the heck. The thing is, I did ask the owner. I sent them a private message and got no response. In the message I mentioned the DNF and NM logs. I offered to replace the cache for them if they were too busy to get out and do it. After 2 weeks, no response from them. So now at the advice of the forum members, I marked it as NA. Immediately, the owner deletes my NA log, archives the cache, and deletes my Found log on a different cache. I really didn't intend to offend them, I was only trying to be a good geo-citizen.
  6. It's been gone for 8 months with no word from the owner. I'd log a "Should be archived", but to answer questions: 1. I think that is the wrong thing to do because if the owner is ignoring it, then it shouldn't be there. If you place a cache there, then a few months down the road some future cacher is going to be stuck in the same situation you are in and the cycle will never end. Just log the SBA. 2. See #1 Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm glad I asked before replacing the cache. I have posted a "Needs Archived" log for the cache. Well, that certainly got the owner's attention. Funny how 2 "Needs Maintenance," and a DNF over 8 months plus a private message gets no response from the owner. But hours after I marked it "Needs Archived," the owner deleted my "Needs Archived" post, archived the cache, and deleted my "Found" log on one of their other caches where I couldn't sign it because the log was full. Sheesh...someone needs to lighten up. Just had a vibe on that one. At least you got his attention finally. I put the cache on my watchlist and it actually took a total of 7 minutes for him to archive the cache this morning after you posted your NA. I don't think he liked the fact that you sought advice on the forums. Actually, I went out the the 2nd cache today (the one where my found log was deleted). It turns out i DID sign the log. I took a picture for evidence. Any advice on how to proceed? I'm thinking maybe a private message to the owner apologizing if I've offended them and asking if we can put this behind us. Then resubmit the "Found It" for the 2nd cache.

  9. There is a cache near me that is currently unmaintained (GCV3YV). The logs clearly indicate that it is missing. I checked on it myself, and it is missing. I sent a private message to the owner indicating that I'd be happy to maintain the cache for them, but I haven't heard back from them. So my questions are: 1. Can I go ahead and replace the cache? Seems like the right thing to do so that the cache doesn't die. 2. If I replace it, is it bad form to log it as found too? Thanks, JesterVineo
