Thank you for your imput I kept coming up with the quest myself but wanted more imput

I am wanting to get my father a GPS for chirstmas. I am looking for a gps with good road maps that can also handle the waypoints. I use the GPSMAP 196 and like it because of the big screen. This is not a good road map or geocache unit. I do think this would make a good unit if I took all the aviation mapping out of it and replaced it with road maps. That would be like altering a new pair of jeans. Is there a unit that has the larger screen, road maps w/ resteraunts, hotels..etc that can also swap to off road with the compas heading so handy in geocaching.

I am a pvt pilot and geocacher. I use the garmin gpsmap 196 great for flying not real good at geocaching. I did try to get my gps out and moniter a flight once. I do not beleive they will stop them at the gate. I got on pretty easy and did not go to any extry measures to smuggle it aboard. I did get it out and the stewardess did politley tell me to put it up or she would keep it for herself.
