  1. I definitely agree with what the others are saying here, I'm glad they're suggesting the same things that I was going to! I have the same concerns.. I'm so paranoid to let my Travel Bugs go, be collected, lost and forgotten! Premium caches at least mean the chances of a more serious cacher, plus, placing it in a cache that takes real effort to get is a good sign, too, as opposed to cache & dash ones. But still, that cacher could place the TB in a common cache and then it gets lost. Arghhh--
  2. Yeesh, I really hope it's just a technical difficulty to never get a reply. I've never had a problem with that though. I do get too many problems of people being politely confronted and they chicken out of ever sending a reply. It's just a bummer, because even when you don't have a sentimental tie with a Travel Bug, you're still pouring money into it. That's why I'm having a tough problem with releasing mine! I think you should just re-message them and just say, "Having a hard time getting a hold of you, not sure if it's the site having difficulty again!" and maybe just add in, "Just checking if you have any plans in store for the Travel Bug!" since it's a really polite way to give notice that you're interested in progress.
  3. I know how you feel. I used to take my ex-boyfriend with me and he's commonly take the Travel Bugs and never put them into another cache. It was aggravating, because he'd just keep holding onto them, forget about them, lose them. I have a handful of Travel Bugs that I want to set out - but I'm scared somebody else is going to be like my ex and just keep-lose-forget about them! Agh!
  4. Ooh, I didn't realize it saved it to the list! I just figured I'd have to accept the challenge first so that the creator is aware that I'm going for it, in case it took a few days/months for me to get around to it.
  5. I once tried to find a cache on someone's tiny front lawn, it was part of a row-home. I gave up because I felt like I was intruding, because the coords are typically 30-feet off but the front lawns were only about 10 feet wide each, so we were possibly going through other people's lawns. It was just terrible. Recently, my fiance and I were looking for another cache where we had to look under a small deck 1-foot off the road. I didn't enjoy that, either, because there was trash and beer cans stacked all around. I just feel sleazy if anyone finds me because it looks like we're looting through trash or something!
  6. Chyo! My name's Steph, I've been a GeoCacher since 2009's winter. I found out about GeoCaching one night while my friend was rambling one of his stories and he quick mentioned it and kept going on in his story. I stopped him and asked what the heck GeoCaching was, he explained it and I was extremely excited to do it. I've stayed inside my whole life, so GeoCaching is a great way to just go out and enjoy nature! I always go out with my fiance, he has his own account, too, sometimes we bring a friend or two along. Waiting to get a harness in the mail to bring my cat along, she's very dog-like with going outside. GeoCaching aside, I'm a professional illustration artist, both traditional and digital. But of course, when I need a good break, I go out and GeoCache.
