  1. What GPS are you using? Most devices will have a compass screen that will tell you your Course Over Ground (COG). If you want to be able to read the co-ordinates easily I would recommend changing your unit to UTM. it is a linear system so if you move one meter you notice the co-ordinate will change by one digit. However it is not a true system so as you move closer to the poles the system becomes less accurate. Reading the lat/long coordinates. As you move north the latitude reading will increase and as you move south it will decrease. The equator is 0 degrees. If you are in the western hemisphere the the longitude co-ordinate will increase as you move West. I hope this helps. Cheers Jesse
  2. GPSCity is a Candian company with offices in Calgary AB and a USA office in Las Vegas. They started in Calgary, AB in 1994, which makes them the first online Canadian GPS retailer. www.gpscity.ca Best support, prices, and website. There are also a few more geo-caching specific sites in Canada. Another company to check out is landsharkz.ca. This is another great Canadian site. Cheers
  3. As a GPS expert I would not recommend this model to anyone.
  4. Hello All, Went to the site and it is a refurbished unit and they do not know when or if they will ever get the unit. The GPSMap 76 is not worth the money. Not for caching that is. I would go for the Venture or take the plunge into a better GPS like the Oregon that now supports custom maps and satellite imagery. Great for caching and special events. ** When picking a store to buy from I would choose based on who gives you the best support. Do they provide technical support? Live chat? Knowledgeable staff? Tutorials? Videos? News? and good deals without fighting for a price match? Do they pawn you off onto the manufacturer when the sale is done. Just thought I would just mention this because of my past experiences. Ciao
  5. I've never had the pleasure of trying an Oregon or a DeLorme PN-40, and I'm sure they are both very capable units. However, if you don't need the extra features these units offer, and just want a basic unit that will point the way to a cache, and includes the ability to easily upload from a PC, get something like the Garmin eTrex Venture HC. It has USB, a high sensitivity receiver, is small, rugged, uses AA batteries, and is relatively inexpensive. The Garmin GPSMap 60CSX would be my recommendation. Its a great unit
