  1. Ok, I can kind of see the frustration if some people stock their caches with really nice stuff and they are getting expired coupons in return. Like I said, I'm new to this. 3 of the 5 caches I have found were microcaches so there was only a log book. I guess I'll see more of this as I find traditional caches.
  2. I'm new to this but having fun. My wife and I are in it for the finding of the cache, the exercise and the general fun. I don't mind finding McToys. I personally have purchased a Travel bug to drop off somewhere. Made cards to drop in caches and bought some "junk" as some of you would call it, I'm sure, because there seem to be a lot of families involved and the kids would like it. I found some little pirate figures that seemed to fit into geocaching, because it is like we are hunting for treasure. Elite? Reading these forums makes me think a lot of people are snobs and elitist. Have some fun for goodness sakes. I'd be happy if the Travel bug actually arrived safely in the next cache, not worry about what the person left in it's place. Maybe the person thought they could help it along. But.. again, I'm new to this. Maybe I'll become Jaded in this like I have in many things. By the way, this is not directed at anyone in particular, it just seemed like a good place to post it. It is not meant as a flame, just a reminder to have fun!
  3. That explains it. Thanks. I was trying to download after doing the query. I got it now. Brian of The Celtic Cachers
  4. -- Just went back and tried again. I have the right option selected. When I get the email, that file may be correct, but online when I try to download it is automatically a .loc file. It offers no option that I see.
  5. I'm a premium member and I performed a pocket query. When I try to download it, I only get the option to download a .loc file. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Brian of The Celtic Cachers
  6. I'm new to all of this and decided to jump in big time and buy a Garmin Rino 130. My computer does not have a serial port and it honestly it never occurred to me that any modern device built in the 21st century would have a serial connection.. but there you go. My question is.. can I use a serial to usb adapter? I bought one to try, but I can not find a way to make it work. Has anyone done anything like this? How did you accomplish it? Thanks for any help.. Brian of The Celtic Cachers..
