  1. I made a PQ some time ago based on caches along route. I have deleted this PQ, but would really like to get the PQ and the caches back. Due to a complicated driving route it would take a lot time to do everything over again. In my mailbox I found a link to the results/all the caches in the query. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?pq=407f3886-1a7b-4622-ad4c-69e66ff386ed Is it possible to use this result to generate a new PQ so that I can download the all in one .GPX-file?
  2. When you're for instance out travelling, let's say in Paris for a long weekend. I would have liked to go to the app and push "Notify me about new caches in this area" (or similar) instead of navigating through a clumpy website.
  3. I don't think we need an additional Facebook, but I totally agree with PRatey219. I just want all the information already existing on geocaching.com (plus some extra) at one place. I suggest a news feed which could contain: Findings by friends Findings by geocachers you follow (by now it's not possible to follow other geocachers) Findings of your own geocaches Favourites of your own geocaches Findings of geocaches that you follow/have listed etc. Notifications of newly published geocaches (in your defined area) Notification when your friends publish new geocachers Notification when your friends earn badges/belts/milestones/achivements/souvenirs etc. Of course with the possibility to check what information you want/don't want in your feed. And for those of you concerned about the stalking: It is possible to stalk other geocachers at the moment, so a feed like this wont invent the stalking.
  4. I totally agree with the suggestion to make challenges an own type of geocaches. It's time for some development. Thumbs up !
  5. When using the Instant Notification Service to add a notification you have to make 12+ notifications per area. When travelling/moving often this is really boring and time consuming. My suggestions to simplify and improve the instant-notify feature are: Make the "Type to Watch" a checkbox list (instead of a dropdown menu) with the possibility to "check all" Add "my current position" to "From what coordinates would you like to base this search?" Add the same features in the app
  6. The feed I'm suggesting doesn't need to be on the feont page. Of course it could be on the profile page. Or on every page. What do you mean by that? When you're using geocahing.com you don't have use all its features. Regarding sharing. I know it's possible, but I'm not interested in sharing my finds with all my Facebook friends or twitter followers. I dont think they're interested either.
  7. At the front page of geocaching there is a "recent activity" of the most recent geocaches found in the world, but who does actually care about that? I would really like to have a some kind of social news feed. Such a feed could contain: * Findings by friends Findings by geocachers you follow (by now it's not possible to follow other geocachers) Findings of your own geocaches Findings of geocaches that you follow/have listed etc. Notifications of newly published geocaches (in your defined area) Notification when your friends publish new geocachers Notification when your friends earn badges/belts/milestones/achivements/souvenirs etc. Such a feed could make geocaching.com an even more active and social place to be.
  8. Hmm, it seems like the blocking is dependent on which map source you are using. I was blocked when using OpenStreetMap Mapnik, but didn't get blocked when I chose OpenStreetMap MapQuest. ...or wait a minute. I was blocked there as well. I just didn't see it in the beginning.
  9. I found the right options in MOBAC. The only problem is that when I try to make an RMaps SQlite atlas, I'm blocked from the server: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Blocked What do you do to cope with this?
  10. but mobile atlas creator gives you .osz-files, and locus only accepts .map . Isn't that right?
  11. Hi I've been trying to find this the whole day without any good result. I hope someone can help me. I want: An Android app for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 this app to be able to navigate (typically while driving) offline. Offline because I want to use it in every abroad ( for this trip I will go to Brazil, Chile, Falkland Island) this app to be able to load open source maps that I find on the internet(typically *.img and *.osm) this app to be able to load *.GPX files (typically) pocket queries. I someone has any tips for me, I would be reallyu really happy! Henrik
  12. that's correct So if I choose today, I will get it instantly to my e-mail?
  13. When I have made a pocket query, viewed the result checked all the caches I want and hit the "Download waypoints" buttom, it will only download them as .loc. Even though I chose .gpx when making the query. I just want to easily download several geocaches along a route in .gpx in one operation. Can anyone give me some hints?
