  1. I have seen too many ownerless virtuals to believe that they care. They don't seek them out but a NA log will start the process but no one does that they just log it.
  2. You should report the incident to GS and they will look into it and delete all of them at one time. Virtuals are dying out as time goes on. Contacting a specific CO probably isn't going to get much response. If you check the owners of virtuals you will find that many haven't been on the site in years.
  3. Most people don't carry a device that would take a USB stick and those that do would not be foolish enough to put it in because of the risk.
  4. GSAK will import that which can then be exported to a gpx file. A google search Convert produces several other solutions
  5. I looked on the Garmin website and it shows that it can't be ordered. Where did you order yours from? Amazon has it with a 3-4 week delay
  6. download 100-200 to your phone (or device) and sort by distance. turn on waypoint proximaty alerts if your device is capable, it's very nice. no need in staring at the screen when it can increase the frequency of alerts as you get closer ;-) maybe you meant something else ? Did you miss the part where he was saying he was creating new caches. Your answer doesn't seem to be a response to his question.
  7. I would vote for a mandatory one hour wait between submitting caches.
  8. You won't find a better system of mounts than RamMount
  9. If by other devices you mean Magellan or something like that I didn't see anything to indicate that. It will transfer info between Garmin's but they have had that on devices for a long long time. It does interface with the phone which is nice. If I can run a PQ on the phone and download it to the 700 without using an OTG it is a go for me. Now when I don't have my laptop with me I have to use a double cable since the phone won't power a Montana.
  10. Welcome to the world of trackables. The whole system is dysfunctional and it is best if you have no expectations about what happens to it. Hundreds of pages of discovers is not unusual before it actually moves. It likely isn't there anymore but in someone's hands who hasn't logged it.
  11. I agree. I have the Montana and it is as big and heavy as I would ever want. With all the features on this one I might get the basic. I have TOPO 100K US plus three 24K's plus CN Navigator on a card so won't have to buy new maps.
  12. All this looks great but could wear out the battery a little quicker. I think I would carry a spare battery when out for the day
  13. Also GSAK has macros that will fill in an elevation field.
  14. It is probably that you have it set to one datum and typed in another. Please show the exact way you typed it in. Also somewhere in the unit you will find a way top set the coords system, Find that and see what it says.
  15. Whats a bald? A meadow or grassy field on a mountain top. This hike was along the AT in Roan Mountian at Carver's Gap. Thanks
  16. This your first post bit there are thpusands before you with the same issue. Basically send nothing into the wild with an emotional attachment.
  17. There have been several of these in the past and as Keystone alludes to many of the owners ccome here to complain that the tools don't get returned. You could make the second one with a combo lock and the combo is in the first. Going out of the way to return the secret opener is going to cause you problems.
  18. I've been able to pair my Sony Xperia Z3 with my Oregon 600, but that's all I've been able to do. Transfer so far seems impossible. I have used an OTG cable on several occasions to put GPX file on microSD card. Didn't work though, as I normally use GGZ file. Oregon 600 didn't pick up the new GPX file on boot. You keep interchanging GPX and GGZ like they are the same. They are radically different files. If you export an GPX file it goes in the GPX folder and a GGZ file goes in the GGZ folder. I doubt the Garmin will read a GGZ in the GPX folder.
  19. There is no option to add a cacher to an ignore list. At the risk having someone go "Oh not that again" the solution is GSAK. You can download by CO name then filter for the series you want to eliminate and add it to the ignore list with just a couple of clicks. Can be done in less than one inning of baseball. The list of things that people have submitted for the website is to long to ever be completed and I suspect when there are alternatives to them making a change they don't give it a high priority.
  20. This one, maybe: https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6KBNP_i-scream-you-scream-we-all-scream-for-ice-cream What about that listing makes you think you would get a souvenir?
  21. Use GSAK and convert all your PQs to API calls and save each one. They will be backed up automatically with GSAK.
