  1. All of my parts are original (so far, knock wood!), but my father, Poppy Le Pew, had a hip replacement 15ish years ago, and is in need of another. He's been caching for about 17 months, and frankly, some times i'm glad that i did not know where he was going beforehand, because i would have worried, and might have advised him otherwise. Hardest lesson for me is that it is none of my business. he will do what he knows he is capable of doing. he doesn't need a daughter fussing over him.
  2. extremely frustrating - same thing happened last year - i am pleased to pay for a premium membership, and i assume that that money goes towards maintaining/upgrading the servers time to upgrade, clearly...

    Cache Approvers

Cache Agent is the main reviewer in my local area, and she is the best!!! She not only approves our caches, or works with us to get them approved, but she is also active in our local forum, and provides great advice there. She makes herself very available to the local community. We never wait long for a response. Cache Tech sometimes looks at our caches, and, less often, mtn-man. Kudos to all of these volunteers! Thanks for enabling our obsession
  4. I've been doing the timeouts until near brain-death lately, but the search screen thingy was new to me tonight - tks for the feedback! Happy trails to all.
  5. Site has been deadly slow for weeks now. I paid for a premium membership based on the plea for $$$ for servers. I realize this is a busy time, but the site owners would have anticipated that... What is confusing me tonight, though, is that I am not able to look at local caches, newest inmy area, or nearby caches. I am being sent to a search page instead. Perhaps I did not read enough of the logs to discover if this is happening to others as well, but it is very frustrating! Are others running into the same roadblocks?
  6. I spent last weekend 'caching in Moncton, New Brunswick. On Saturday night I did two caches in the Berry Mills area (small rural community). The Sunday afternoon news reported the deaths of two locals, who had driven their van into a brook that night and, presumably, died of exposure. I wish I had seen the vehicle - I might have been able to do something...
