  1. Did you see this one? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...=y&decrypt=
  2. It happens to even the best caches and the most carefull cachers. You might be very careful to avoid muggles but that doesn't mean that other cachers will be. Here is what I do. Hide it off the beaten path. If you want to take cachers to a landmark or commonly visited area, hide the cache several hundred feet away from the main area of interest. Then mention the coordinates of any places of interest where you want cachers to visit in the description. In your description, tell visitors the best times to go to avoid muggles. Cammo the cache if you haven't already. Cover it in foilage, use camo duct tape, or spray paint it. Check on it occasionally to make sure other cachers have covered it properly. I don't know how many times I have gone back to my caches to find them left out in the open. If you want to rehide it in the same area, wait a while and don't put it in the same spot.
  3. Ya, I don't think its a big deal one way or the other. If you log a find, just say you used to own it. Or, you could just log a note about your visit saying the cache is in good shape.
  4. I am also very sorry to hear about your loss. If we are going caching less than ten miles from home I always bring my dogs Annie and Dodger. Even though they get a little antsy while I am signing the log or walking in circles around the coordinates, they love geocaching as much as I do. I wouldn't take them to an urban cache, although I did take them to one in a rural country store parking lot. They actually helped out by greeting and distracting muggles while we signed the log.
  5. I got an unintentional second ear piercing in my left ear after tripping on a loose rock and landing on a yucca. Another yucca needle from the same plant punctured the hand I used to protect my face from the fall. Another one of the needles lodged into my nailbed of the thumb on my other hand. And, I guess I punched my jaw with the hand I used to protect my face because I had a sore jaw for a while. When I got up, I realized that I had fallen on the cache that I had just put together and squished it. Needless to say, I did not place a cache that day. lol I guess this story is kinda funny now, but I remember being pretty annoyed when it happened. I hate yuccas.
  6. Lol! I hope you brought the second one with you while trying to accomplish the first one's goal. Especially if approaching random pretty girls who have not heard of geocaching.
  7. Do you have a yellow car? I would have had to find one. I could just imagine trying to explain to my workmate why I am photographing a "keychain" on the hood of his yellow VW bug.
  8. Most of the coins or bugs I have come across have common goals like visiting every state or just moving from cache to cache. Have any of you ever come across any out of the ordinary goals that are unusual, funny, or seemingly impossible? Thought we might get a few interesting stories. Also, I hope to get some ideas for two new coins that I need to place.
  9. Its come to the point where you have to check the contents of geocaches before letting kids view them. "Mommy whats a herpes?" lol I saw these on ebay and had to double check to be sure it was real! lol
