  1. I am selling a magellan Explorist 100,basically brand new,i used it maybe three times. Also selling a Magellan sportrak map.(not the color one) It has all of the eastern united states loaded in it right now. I lost my topo program for it. Both are in mint condition, functioning and cosmetically. I am asking 50 for the explorist and 120 for the sportrak.firm on both. I Can provide pictures if needed. Long Island preferably. contact me at aliencap13@yahoo.com http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=...3242#ps-sellers http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=e...1683#ps-sellers
  2. LONG ISLAND,NY Our organization serves both Nassau and Suffolk on Long Island,NY
  3. I got a tungsten e, with tons of extra memory, and some very warm clothes which were specially chosen by my wife for geocaching. she is great.
  4. for the most part my wife and i dont even use flashlights. We do carry two mini mags as back ups. our main lights are garrity palm lights, the type that supposedly the fire department endorses. usually we dont need lights until we need to bushwack. on a few occasions we have used night vision. only problem with that is if it is generation 3 or earlier you cannot have any other light at all, so it must be pitchblack out.
  5. my wife and i started geocaching in september and i would say out of our 60 or 70 finds(locationless not included) maybe 7 of them were done during the day. much more exciting, dangerous, less muggles. only downfall is i could of had a new house built with the money we spend on batteries.im building a solar recharger for my trunk which should resolve that. this one was the best out of em all chandler estate nightmare
  6. MRS.HYDE is my caching partner. married for 3 years and love to cache together. we go at night on 90 % of our quests, and we do alot of yelling at each other on the trails, (oooww thorns)(,step on that for me),(my batteries dying give me your flashlight),( no it wouldnt be there)(,what do you meen you didnt waypoint the car?),(sorry, didnt mean to smack you with that branch).(slow down) but we love it. so if your caching in ny at night and hear loud voices, say hello cause you'll know who it is seeker12 & mrs.hyde
  7. valid point taken. i will reconsider my planning now. these are very large multi bedroom houses and a couple of estates, but now that i think about it they may be rather boring or un interesting. hmmmm???
  8. The cache is the coordinates you get from the adresses and phone # clues. so you go too coordinates of say three buildings, write down the numbers as you get too each location. that gets you the north coordinates for the cache. then you you do three more which give you the second part of the cache coordinates I know. I've done/placed plenty like that. What I'm saying is we can't go and tell you "sure, great idea, I'm sure it will get approved!" and then find out the final cache is buried in the middle of RR tracks in a National Park. I doubt there will be any problems with a multi cache that takes numbers off of signs (I would skip the house numbers, just a privacy issue) if the final location is acceptable. Ok,i see what your saying now. privacy has been my main concern, and with the way i set it up it is really quite impossible to even be noticed by passerbys let alone the people living in the houses
  9. The cache is the coordinates you get from the adresses and phone # clues. so you go too coordinates of say three buildings, write down the numbers as you get too each location. that gets you the north coordinates for the cache. then you you do three more which give you the second part of the cache coordinates. the cache would be a normal hiding place, park, woods, etc. the actual cache i have set up is on a small hill behind a park. it would be approved as a traditional cache minus all the searching for numbers
  10. i had an idea (has this been done?) i have plotted coordinates for house adresses and phone numbers (printed outside stores), these numbers are very visible without disrupting traffic or needing flashlights ETC. these house numbers and phone numbers make up the cords for the actual cache. (you dont even have to leave your car, so no worry about trespassing) for example: 40 any road, anytown 49 any street, anytown first 3 digits of phone # on building 373 these numbers would give you N40.49.373 first cord for cache. these are all within 1 town. i already did the hunt myself to see if it works out, and i think it was alot of fun even though i knew where it was leading. so, do you think the reviewers would approve it, and would people be willing to attempt it?
