  1. I want to send a vacum tube from a guitar amplifier on a quest but want to render it unbreakable. Any ideas on how to encase it in resin or paint it with several layers of protective something?
  2. Wait a minute .. don't you need the unlock code or something to download the maps from mapsourse?
  3. My cache name is mbharpman. I am a blues musician and play harmonica in my band. I bought a small quanity of small harmonicas and plan on leaving those as a sig item. I also have a travel bug I am sending to Memphis with a "harp" attached as soon as I get back out. Health issues have kept me home for a short season. Blues with a feelin'...
  4. Thanks, I'll give that a try. I was going through menu "heck" trying to figure it out. ...... and I thought going "paperless" was going to simplify my life.....
  5. Is there a way to toggle all those geocache symbols on and off on my map display on legend C? I downloaded about 200 caches in a 15 mile radius now my maps are a bit cluttered. Thank you
  6. I am getting ready to place my first cache in western Washington off a paved trail along one of our numerous rivers. Does anyone know of any resourses to gain permission to place this cache?
  7. I just recieved a flyer and REI has the Legend Cx on sale for Labor day weekend, $179 with Garmin $50 rebate. Pretty good deal. It's not in my budget, but thought I could pass this on.
  8. I haven't tried them yet. But then I haven't gone out solo yet either. I usually take the kids, we look for the larger caches so they can swap goodies. I just started bike riding and have noticed some along the bike trails. I might check them out if just me and the wifey go out.
  9. I just bought a new rig yesterday from my nieces husband. They are being transfered to Germany and are leaving Monday. I get to pick it up Sunday. 2001 Toyota Tacoma SR5 TRD 4X,3.4, king cab, bed cover, spray in bed liner, AC, auto, power windows and locks. All the bells and whistles. It should take me wherever I need to go.
  10. GPS 12, I recieved it as a premium for 25 yrs of faithful service at my job. a great unit. Learned the basics. Legend C, now I am spoiled with the maps and auto routing and stuff.
  11. This reminds me of when I was metal detecting a few years back. My wife was playing with our kids in a park and I was swinging my detector with headphones on. Some older kids were watching me and my wife overheard them say, " that poor, poor man. Lets go put some money in the grass so he can find it." so, unknown to me they went about "salting" the park with thier pennies . My wife was amused...
  12. Took my boys, grandson 11, sons 5 & 7 out for our first finds with my new Legend C. Scored 2 for 2. I've been using a Garmin 12 then took the plunge for the Legend C and maps. I must say there is a world of differance in the 2 units. The 12 is a great little unit. but the maps are SWEET. P.S. meant to post "Legend C" instead of Vista
  13. I have an older GPS 12, am not a premium member yet, and use "easy GPS". I can downlod to my laptop and upload to GPSr the coords pretty easyly.
