  1. Hello, we are awaiting our second batch of coins. They are done; however, there is a hold up with some other coins that are being shipped with this order that is holding them up a bit. I really hope to have the next batch by the first part of October. I am really starting to worry I didn't order enough due to the overwhelming response to them. If you want a coin, please email us at ethighway1000@gmail.com (this is the email we set up for the ET highway and is associated with all 1176 caches we placed out there). Thanks to all who have shown interest.
  2. I am trying to find a map generator that collects information on where people are from who have visited a cache. It seems like I saw one in the past but I didn't book mark it. I know there is the world66 maps, but you have to input the info..I really would like one that collects the data. Thank in advance
  3. I just found out Jamie of Mad Hatter's Neverland is not commissioning Geocoin artwork any more Does anyone have any recommendations?
  4. Glad you spoke up, I thought the same thing and forgot about it. I have had it changed now, I'll see if I can post a picture of it. Thanks for the input!
  5. Thanks for the idea...I added a note for the cache for October 4th. I then went and changed that to a "find"..I am going to leave two founded logs in the cache...wait until next week when I can run another query and see what happens. Hopefully it will see one of them and I can delete the other. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for the help
  6. There is a very good chance I logged these from my iPhone, I'm pretty sure I did. However, I log about 60-70% of my daily finds on my iPhone...crazy that some of them messed up. It still seems that when I go delete that entry and log it again on the correct date...it doesn't wipe out the bad data and fix the problem???
  7. Took your advice and looked up the cache on Sept 6th...the day that is missing...this is what I found... "<Groundspeak:date>2009-09-07T00:30:11</Groundspeak:date>" It looks like Groundspeak is seeing it on the 7th...even though it was found and logged on the 6th...as far as the other one, it seemed to be in order. I found it on the 4th and it was reported on the 4th... " <Groundspeak:date>2009-10-04T19:00:00</Groundspeak:date>"
  8. Interesting, I even tried to delete the logs and re-enter them for the day before...the day of...and the day after...trying to see if that would help the problem...no help. Thanks for the response
  9. Here is my predicament…I am seeing the problem in two different areas…”consecutive streak” and “best day caching”…maybe other areas I’m not aware of but these I know about. I will run my personal query and use it on three different stat generators INATN (itsnotaboutthenumbers), Cache Stats, and GSAK. The funny thing is, out of the three…I get 2 different outcomes. My best day caching, all three add 5 extra cache to my best day. As far as the consecutive days…GSAK and INATN has my streak ending September 5th, 2009; and Cache Stats has it ending October 3, 2009. My streak is still ongoing. I have emailed GSAK, they told me it was a problem with the coding I am getting from Groundspeak (which I agree with). I emailed Groundspeak, and they more or less dropped the ball and told me to post here. Anyone else seeing this problem? Or have any ideas how to fix this? It is starting to drive me a bit crazy, I have been working hard on my consecutive days and they are not reflecting. Thanks in advance, Clay4

  15. I am very excited about this new app. One thing I would REALLY like to see is a feature that my Garmin Colorado has. The ability to save your finds, known as Field Notes. If your doing several caches you can save them, when you get home you "Access My Field Notes", which is a text file and it places all the caches you found in chronological order so you can just click and log. A very useful tool, especially if your doing a handful of caches and don't want to log them on the spot. This function and the paperless caching is the main reason I haven't sold my Colorado (I still like prefer using my GPSMap 60CSx). I'll keep my fingers crossed, it seems like it would be an easy thing to add.
  16. Still looking for the Garmin Chicago Grand Opening Coin. If anyone has one that is wanting to trade, I have some very rare coins to trade. I would consider adopting one as well.
  17. Man, a parking meter would be awesome! Talk about urban camo. I wonder if there's any in town that aren't bolted down tight... wouldn't that be a cache of commercial nature.... now thats a big non no. You would get lots of money...Yay!!!! Seeing the parking meter reminded me of this is the cache I used for my 1500th find. Credit goes to Patron and Mrs. They have a handful of great caches
  18. I have two stamps I use, one for regular and one for micros...they do a great job even if the logs are wet. Every once in a while I come across a cache that the log is TOO wet to remove or I don't have my tweezers with me to get it out. When this happens I take a picture of the cache with my personal geocoin. I always have my phone with me so it makes it easy. My coin glows in the dark so that is very handy for night caching. I use the picture taking method for all the virtual caches I go on. I usually put something in the post that I wasn't able to sign the log so I took a picture...I'll post it on that page if it is not a spoiler...or on my coins page if it is and make a reference to that post to the owner so they can see I was there. I also use the picture method if I come a cross a cool cache or a cache in a different state, I am getting a pretty nice collection of pictures on my coins page because of it. Here are just a few
  19. Yes, I guess I used bad terminology on the Groundspeak coin, signal is the owner... like all the new Groundspeak coins, I thought they were all like that. It is however unmolested or not discovered by anyone. Sorry if I misinformed or have been unclear, it wasn't my intent. I realize the coins are very are hard to come by but I thought I would throw it out, maybe someone has a few extras and need one of these to complete their collection.
  20. I have a brand new unactivated Garmin 2008 Colorado Series Geocoin I would like to trade for an unactived Garmin Chicago Store Grand Opening Geocoin. I also have a never opened brand new 2007 Groundspeak Lackey coin I would like to trade for one of the older Lackey coins, or 2005 Groundspeak Volunteer Geocoin. I would also concider a silver or nickel Project Ape Coin. If interested, please email me at clay4geocache@cox.net
  21. Hmmmm, I can't see any of the pictures...am I too late?
  22. I would still like to see some of these changes, still hoping, I have my fingers crossed
  23. That is really not how I play it. I can see your point, about logging the coins with out actually seeing them...that is why I said something about having to ask for permission from the owner. And; hey, it was an idea, not saying it was the best, I would still like to see the idea in of being able to place and/or taking your WHOLE collection with one number. The discover portion of it really doesn't matter to me, just thinking out loud.
  24. Oh yeah, a few other ideas I would like to throw out there. I would also like to have the travel bug and the geocoins separate. For example have the option to do a query on Coins OR TB's. Right now you can only query TB and it gives you both TB's and coins. Also on the "my account details" page, when you log a coin, the icon shows you uploaded or downloaded a "TB" (the TB icon that is). I would LOVE to see when you log a coin it show either a generic coin or perhaps the icon of that coin like they just did with the icons on the same page under "my inventory". I know it is petty but I would like to see it....
  25. I typed this up last night in word and was going to post it, when I saw someone already hit the idea. I'll just cut and paste it...here is my ideas... I have two ideas that perhaps GC.com could make available to member only or the general public. They both have to do with Geocoins. First idea…there are a lot of people that collect geocoins that don’t necessarily want to set them free. They want to keep them in their possession and take them to events to share/discover them. The problem is, the geocacher’s inventory shows all these coins along with all the other coins or TB’s that person has in their possession. Right now, I know a lot of cachers get around this by kind of cheating the system and creating a fake cache. This a cache they create, but just don’t activate, enabling them to drop the their collectables. This permits the cacher to keep their coins separate from “wild” coins. It seems like it would be easy to fix by just adding another option to members. Second idea…this idea stems off the first idea dealing with cachers that collect geocoins. The problem is, lets say there is an event and a geocoin collector wants to bring their coins. If a person has 50+ coins, this would take forever logging each one. I think if there was some way GC.com could make it to where the owner of the coin was able to Drop all coins in a cache and then pick them all up with out having to enter every trackable item. Oh, I just figured it out. I have one easy solution to fix both problems. This would really add to the whole geocaching experience. And I think it should be added as a membership only feature. As a member you get an account that would be called something like “collectable account” which each member could name just as they would name a geocache. In this account you would put your collectable coins in it. This collection would have some kind of a tracking number that would be associated with all the coins that where put in it. This way, when a cacher goes to an event, they enter this one collection tracking number and all their coins that are in the collectable account go into the event cache. When the person leaves, they enter the one collection tracking number and all the coins go with them. This would also be great because you could make it to where people could discover that person’s collection, the owner could give them that number and the discoverer would get all coin icons in the collection. Maybe make it to where the discoverer has to ask owner for permission first. Where if someone wanted to discover the collection, the discoverer would request to discover the collection, GC.com would send the owner an email and the owner would have to grant permission to let the person discover them…so you don’t have someone passing around your collection number around??
