  1. On my web site in Czech language nilgiri.sweb.cz you can download from English summary page TYP definition files for Topo Czech v1 and Metroguide and common TYP file with file cloner SW klonuj_typka.exe. This sw can be used for cloning attached TYP for different families. See examples for metroguide (the last picture) and Topo Czech (1st-3rd picture) Both located in Prague. Note, that this TYP is optimized for more contrast view on gps screen, thats why the colors are bold. And YOU WILL SEE OBJECTS WHICH YOU COULD NEVER SEE WITH DEFAULT GARMIN VIEW. The use of this sw is free, but your donations are welcome :-) READ.ME klonuj_typka - Garmin TYP file cloner for Windows console Usage: klonuj_typka [-r] source_typ_filename family_number product_number -r generate reg files Example: Metroguide Europe V6 : klonuj_typka 10000.TYP 73 1 Metroguide Europe V7 : klonuj_typka 10000.TYP 100 1 Metroguide Europe V8 : klonuj_typka 10000.TYP 145 1 Usable only for families which use the same or similar set of symbols, because some map providers use some symbols in different meaning, so you need different input TYP file definition. You may use it typically in a batch file. It creates new TYP file in default directory named eg. 01450001.TYP and 2 asociated reg files for installing and deinstalling register keys (eg. 01450001.reg and 01450001_delete.reg). These files probably will need editing, especially for families like Metroguide, which use different directory and regkey naming scheme. It is recomanded to copy all typ files and reg files to directory C:\Garmin\TYP.
  2. I think, that it is still 64MB or 32MB, 8MB for basemap and so on and 56 MB (24MB) for map cache, which serves as fast access memory for indexes, POIs and maps around my location and cursor location. This cache memory is filled with data from datacard. This is only my opinion, but many signs say this may be true. What do you think?
  3. The only way is to make waypoints in gps over the POI and then download them with mapsource. Probably there is no other way how to solve this.
  4. The only way how to solve these problems is: read the documentation. And after that switch on the receiver. After managing all functions and Mapsource sw, then take care of other sw. There is no other way.
  5. If you run Webupdater http://www.garmin.com/support/download_det...ct=999-99999-27 on your unit for the first time, it will probably load the same version as you already have. But if you run it once more again, it will load GPS SW 2.50 ! Really, it works !
