Were are talking " Wow there's a new cache on the Island of Lotsacaching in the South Pacific lets book the next flight out" Just thought it would be interesting to see how far some cachers would go to bag a cache. 6. I am disgusted by the so called geocacher who has done this, i always thought this was a fun and freindly sport. I for one would like to appologize on behalf of the geocaching comunity for this terible thing why this should be done is beyond me. It is obvious to me though that the perpetrator is a coward as they have not put a name to their crime. Cheers Bountyhunter1 A member of the friendly geocachers society

  14. After reading about these puzzle caches i was wondering. Are there any caches that one could do with out leaving ones computer, now im not lazy and i love to go out walking, caching etc, but due to work comitments family commitments and every other commitment ( maybe i should be commited) i have difficulty finding time hence 36 finds in about 2 years. i was wondering if there were any puzzle type caches that could be done by just searching the net or using the little grey cells, (who said that?? ahh i know my friend Poirot. ) :)
  15. most DVD players that are single region coded should be capable of being multi region assigned i have done this to all players in my house. it should not take more than 1 hr to find an appropriate web site and what to do

  17. The idea of using a dog to find the car is a good one but maybe a little more expensive than batteries for the GPS'r but there are other benefits to having a dog company on long walks (excuse to go caching )(excuse to go for a short walk ) but im a real fan and i fear that when i say HOME to my faithfull old friend it would lead me straight to the nearest pub (not a bad idea ) may try and talk Mrs BountyHunter1 into getting one, nice big rotweiler teach it to hate mother-in-laws. O well one can always dream, have to carry on waypointing the car for now.
  18. sorted, i was trying to open the file instead of importing it thanks sorry

  21. Hello I was wondering if any of you had any funny or maybe not so funny at the time tales to tell while out caching. I will start with a little tale from last year. It was a bright sunny 5th of October last year and i had a few hours to kill so i thought i would try and find a cache not to far from me "Tiger Hunt, GC1890 ". I didnt have a map with me so i just followed the Gps to within about .5 kmparked up and walked, i walked along paths in a lovely country park for about 20 mins untill i came to a rather large valley with no access to the other side, alas the cache was only about 400 ft straight ahead, so i back tracked through the maze of paths but came out some where were i hadnt left the car. Well i wondered around the area for about 10 mins but didnt recognise any land marks, i consulted my track on the Gps. I was only a short distance from my inbound track so i decided to walk to that. When i got there i found it was one of the main roads i had driven in on so i followed my track back to the car. All in all from parking up to finding the car again took me about 2hrs, this was before i'd found the cache. I can laugh about it now but at the time it was a little scary wondering around a rabbit warren of streets and paths triying to find my car. The morral to the story is always mark a way point for the car. cheers BountyHunter
