  1. I'm not an approver. The cache is fine. It's a puzzle cache. It's not a virtual cache. It will be approved. If it's not approved the worst case is you will need to make a minor tweak to it. Nothing drastic, and nothing that will change the cache experience you intend.

There is no conspiracy. You are not being singled out. Your cache isn't the first of it's kind, it won't be the last. I'd tell you to relax but you don't seem the type. Have a drink. Place the cache and list it. All will work out.

Ah !! a voice of reason .. thank you

  2. Have you actually submitted this 'cache? If you have particular questions about what may or may not be allowed, PM or email your local approver directly.

My point is that I have and I get no response. This cache will take a lot of work for me to set it up and I am happy and excited to do so. But I need to know if it is going to be allowed before I bother and I can't get any response from the people that will be responsible for approving it.

How can I expect to get it approved if they wont even respond to my inquirey??

  3. This was my original post in the "Getting Started" forum:

    http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=105475

I have been a paid member since Sept, 2004 and can't get a response from any administrator. I believe at this point I deserve a response in some form one way or the other.

I though this game was open to everyone. If that's not the case, then let me know and as I said, I will go away.

I don't want to go away however, I want to play.

  4. I want to play the game! I want to make a cache hide! I want my hide to be exciting, historic, and memorable as well as fun! I run into cliques! If you don't want me to play the game with you, tell me truthfully and I will go away. Before that happens though, I need to know why?

  5. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a reviewer for the Rochester, NY area. I have a cache idea which I posted in the "Getting Started" forum that seems to me should be allowed, but some cachers seem to have doubts. I tried emailing New York Admin but got no response. This cache, if allowed, is going to take some time to set up and I would like to get it going as soon as possible. Here is a link to my original post: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=105475

Thank You in advance for any help you can give me,

    CapnJackSparrow

  6. Sorry to be bumping this post so soon , but I am looking for reviewer attention.

    Let me explain.

If you have read any of my previous posts, you know that I started working on this cache almost a year ago. Since that time I have been temporarily disabled with disk problems in my neck. I am now able to go out caching again for the first time since my accident and am very excited to be able to get my cache going. I seriously need to know if my idea is acceptable because in order to make it work I need to build the web site. This will take some time and I want to get my cache listed as soon as possible.

Please let me know if this is OK. I have read all the guidelines and find no real problems with my idea, but I am looking for the GeoCaching communities blessings before I go forward with it.

Again, Thank you in advance for your input,

    CapnJackSparrow

  7. Im not a reviewer, but as long as the location of the final does not violate any cache placement guidelines, I think your cache is a winner and I say go for it. :P

Thanks WH. No the final cache hide will definately not violate the guidelines.

  8. I'm getting ready to hide my first cache and i'ts going to be a good one. First to Find prize is a $100.00 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods. It was originally going to be a Garmin eTrex, but I decided to let the FTF decide what they wanted.

My question is: Would I be allowed to make a multi-cache where dates that historic buildings were constructed would need to be gathered and entered into a hidden web address to find the final coordinates?

Coordinates for all locations would be listed in the cache listing but each one would need to be visited to find the dates to enter into the web address for the final coords. ie: www.webpage/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx.

Please help, I am very excited to get started.

    Thank you,

  9. It still says "Adobe Illustrator" on my screen...am I missing something ?

    Both posts.

Top post on my screen says:

I use an antique version of a program called Micrografx Designer.

I have version 4.1 Tech Edition from eons ago, but it still works so....

The "Open Office" suite has a vector editor as part of that package.

I have it installed, and should see how well this works on a project some day.

I just cut and pasted that from the post.

  10. Here's the whole story as told in my first log:

Hey, my friends and I were exploring GHSP and found your cache totally by accident. Between the three of us we have about 90 years of camping and hiking experience and none of us had ever heard of geocaching. Now, two days later, I am a payed member of geocaching.com and already bought my first GPS. Needless to say we were very impressed with the game and excited to start playing. We weren't expecting to find treasure that day so we had very little to leave. I did have a credit card size magnifying glass in my wallet, so I left that and we took a piece of paper to write down the web address and signed the log book. We also hid the cache a little better than we found it to avoid someone else stumbling across it by accident. Thank you for accidentally turning us on to this real cool game, can't wait to start playing for real.

  11. Heh.  How about that...

I googled my last name, my hometown and the word "address" and found myself on the fourth hit, full address and phone number.  Interesting that there are also my two brothers living in town, yet they NEVER showed up on the google serach.

  12. Hi,

I like finding signature items, shot glasses, multi-tools. My son likes to find hot-wheels cars and mctoys. I would love to find a usb mini-drive, monocular, unactivated TBs. There is a $100 bill FTF prize in one of my caches that still has not been found (flask...?).

Very cool hides! I will be looking for yours also. My favorite place in the world is the Adirondack region of Upstate New York.

  13. Goodness, it's so long ago I've forgotten the first time I cranked someone off to the point he threatened to follow my IP upstream, work out who my employer was and drop a dime on me. If you truly have no fear, it can only be because you have nothing to lose

Truth is, I have a lot to lose. I just have no fear of losing it because I am strong enough, smart enough, and responsible enough not to lose it. The information I posted (other than email address) can be found on the internet or in my local phone book. If any a-hole chooses to try to use this info to their advantage, they will be sorry. This I guarentee!

    edit: please excuse spelling

  14. I've been obnoxious on the internet for so long, I worry about other people's vulnerabilities...

Concern noted and appreciated, but I have nothing to hide and I have no fear!

Do your worst and I will survive!

Edit: Terror only works on those that can be terrorized.

  15. I've left unactivated tags at my two caches

That was suggested and I thought it was a great idea. I have 5 unactivater TB's and I will add at least two to the cache.

Also, we have a Chinese import store at our local mall and I found some coins there that will also be added. Funny thing is I probably paid about 10 times there actual value but it's all for the sport.
