Ok everyone I wanted to make sure everyone knew my intentions with the production of the coin. I really like the way the coins looks with the polished nickel, but also the polished gold so.......................................I will keep the same amount of coins I had originally said I would mint but will be cutting back the amount of the standard coins and having 150 of the coins done in polished nickel. These coins will be used strictly for trades or other personal coins that are now available and of course in the future, and for putting in caches as FTF's, it's about time I get some hidden caches under my belt. Hope everyone is fine with that. I just talked to Tess and she is working on the final die art and we will get these babies minted up, who knows maybe they will be the first geocoin of the new year.

I find that I really prefer the person coins over any of the geographic coins. As pdx said the personals typically have more character to them. Just my .02

Ok, I need to get some feedback from everyone that has ordered coins so far. I just heard back from Tess and she has come back with some very good suggestions. Originally I was thinking of having the standard coins done in shiny gold, she said that after doing some art work she thought the chef guy might stand out better with the polished nickel instead. What is the general consensus here? I am also posting the artwork for the LE coins, I think they look pretty sharp. I will be talking to her later today to get this all finished up.

Special number requests After going over some past threads I have noticed that there are several cachers that have requested specific numbers. If there are any special requests for the chef coin I will do my best to honor those requests. Please email me and I will honor them on a first come first served basis.

Ok just popped on for a minute. I will be doing a tally when I get home and get a chance to look over all the previous posts, I will then post it here, I am sure there will be plenty of coins available. In response to a few posts earlier the hyphenation is because ground speak doesn't allow it when you sign up for an account and I wanted the coin to reflect my caching name as it is on Groundspeak. On the back of the coin is my wifes caching name. Yes she is Dutch, born and raised in Ede, and I must say she is quite the treat! Also I will be taking group requests as well and will offer a discount on shipping. I have had several people asking me about trades. Yes I am interested in doing trades! Please email me and I will get back to you. Please be patient because I am very busy this time of year doing chefly things for all the Christmas parties so I will not be able to get back to you right away, I guess I will just do this the old fashioned way and use this thread for the preorders and keep a tally and take orders based on first come first served.

To clear things up, this will not be trackable on gc.com. Like I said in the earlier post the images were prelinary art work. I was originally thinking of doing the tracking thing but with all the hoo ha going on with whether or not they will continue and the cost I decided not to do it. The numbers will now be on the bottom of the beehive instead at the top next to the state. As for changing the spelling on "alot", it is what it is.

I have decided to join the ranks with my own personal geocoin, the soon to be coveted Chef_cache_alot personal geocoin. The coin will be 1.5" in diameter, will be sequentially numbered and will be 3D front and 2D back. There will be 400 minted in 22K gold plating with color front and back as shown in the above images. I will also be producing 100 LE coins that will also be sequentially numbered, different from the regular coins. These coins will be set apart from the regular coins by being minted in two tone metal, gold and polished nickel. I decided to use polished nickel instead of polished silver because the silver would eventually tarnish and is not as durable as the nickel. Price will be in the $6.50-$7.00 range for the standard issue coins and $8.00 for the LE coins. Price will include shipping and packaging, I will use padded envelopes to make sure the coins are safe. The images are just the preliminary art work. I am currently waiting for the final die art which will have a few minor changes, mostly on the LE coins. This coin is being produced by the wonderful people at Coins and Pins. This thread is just to guage interest in my coin. I haven't decided how I will take preorders yet. I am thinking of doing it the old fashioned way by just posting another thread and taking orders that way and sending out an email with the paypal link for payment. I want to keep the price down and with all the fees associated with ebay I would rather not go that way. Any comments would be appreciated. One item I forgot to put in my original post, I will be reserving 100 of the regular coins and 25 of the LE coins for trading and putting in some local caches.

I would love to have one of the gold ones to go with my silver one. I agree that it would be way cool to change the eye color though, one of the features I think really stand out on the coin.

Personal coins you only have to buy 500 from GC.com. However some of the coin companies have the tracking numbers for sale and you can buy them in any number for $1.50 per number. I guess they buy large lots of numbers and then sell them individually.

Go 2 CA 2005 coins in the mail today. Great looking coins, my collection is starting to grow, slowly, but it is growing. I now have several coins to trade. I am also looking at putting a chef_cache_alot coin into the mix. Stay tuned
