My wife joined me in more than a dozen hunts before. She is not as addicted as I am so I go caching more often. Geocaching rarely is a cause of our arguments but is does come up and I get suspected of fooling around when in fact I'm knee-deep in brush or cactus or scrambling on a rocky ledge struggling to reach a tupperware container.

Maybe, just maybe...if the green ammo boxes were painted yellow or any neon color, would they still be mistaken as an explosive device? Or, what if...you write in big bold bright colors across and and all over the ammo box--"NOT A BOMB", or "JUST A CONTAINER FILLED WITH TOYS, TRINKETS AND THINGAMAJIGS"

Leave nothing but footsteps, take nothing but dirt, kill nothing but toenails...err, I mean, time.

I love my protein bars. On longer hikes when I know I'll miss lunch or dinner, Meal Replacement bars are fill me up.

Do you always go geocaching alone or have you joined forces with other geocachers in your area too? I like the idea of forming bonds with fellow cachers by either hiding or searching for caches together.

1. Bring along a hiking pole/walking stick to use not only for taking some load off your knees on steep inclines and keeping your balance when crossing streams but also for poking under bushes, reaching hard-to-reach spots, fighting off bears, mountain lions, coyotes, wolves...use also as a self-arrest on snow, a monopod for your camera.
2. Take nothing but cachestashes, leave nothing but geoswags, kill nothing but batteries.

I will never, ever look for a cache under a ladder.

If my Travel Bug doesn't come to my neck of the woods, then I intend to recover them wherever it may end up in 5 years. (I should be retired by then

I like to see a patch of the geocaching logo, that way you can sew them (or iron) on any item of clothing or even on a backpack.

I don't always read the logs completely. Depending the time I have, sometimes I would sit down and peruse the notes.

New 1/1-star cache posted at a popular regional park.
The weekend morning it was posted, I go to the park and find several cars at the parking lot.
Now if you were there too, how can I tell which vehicles are owned by a fellow geocacher? What are the indications that your automobile is a cachemobile?
-Does your SUV have an "I'd rather be GEOCACHING" license plate frame?
-Do you have MAPBLAST printouts of directions on the passenger seat?
-Do you have a Geocaching sticker on the window?
-a travel bug tag hanging on the rear view mirror?
-ammo boxes on your car floor?
-a set of street clothes and a pair of leather shoes in the backseat?
Inquiring minds want to know...
