  1. Yep get a copy of The Milepost. Make sure to stop for a dip at Liard River Hot Springs in British Columbia. It's a really nice break while driving. Have a great time.
  2. There WAS a short time where, due to a loophole, non premium members had access to the premium member mapping features. You probably got in on that and then became a premium member before they found the loophole and turned it off lol.
  3. If you read the thread you will see that the OP has decided to do something different and has gone back to the drawing board.
  4. No, no. Imagine George Clooney is piloting the boat, The wind and rain pushes the waves over the bow. You being the dedicated sailor, attempting to retrieve the day's only catch are battling to pull in the nets. Suddenly a sword fish, no not a live one, the one mounted in the galley, is dragged up by your newly met enemy and thrown at you, knocking you over the handrail. Need I say more? Wait, I'm still imagining George Clooney is piloting my boat...
  5. Yep, sign the logbook, log a smilie. If you can't sign the logbook, forego adding the smilie.

  7. You women who are so paranoid about being "lured" out to a night cache at a specific day and time could bring a friend or two or three! (I am most definitely not saying that you aren't right to want to be safe. Women get attacked in broad daylight in public places.) I can't help but be a little bit offended though. Doc Geo I'm far from a paranoid woman. I am a woman who uses common sense. You asked, I told you, now you are offended. If you can't take people's opinions and the reasons they hold them, don't ask. I don't care how many security clearances you had. Do you know how many *I* had? Why are you holding me to an appointment time? Because you are paranoid about having people with flashlights out in your woods...
  8. You asked "How Do You Feel About Cache Availability By Appointment?" You shouldn't get upset because we tell you.
  9. Nice trip and photos. Bet you had a bit of an adrenaline rush when you heard that "woof".
  10. Awesome. Will you be sharing pictures of your hike anywhere online?
  11. Sorry no. I'm a female and do most of my caching alone. I would have NO problem doing a night cache, but not if I have to let a total stranger know what time of the night I would be alone in the woods. How handy. That's just not being responsible.
  12. My Life and Times as well as Adventures in the Interior of Alaska. http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-QmIfJpw2fql...GIOLhaTAM-?cq=1
  13. Heh, we do celebrate but have many more indoor activities! For Winter Solstice (Dec 21 or 22) we have about 3 hours of daylight.
  14. I was once hitch hiking home to Fairbanks after back packing in Denali and got a ride on a BMW bike. It rained all the way. Cold and wet but at least I got home.
  15. I think I have it fixed though the width/height ratio on some of them are off kilter. http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-QmIfJpw2fql...aTAM-?cq=1&p=38

  17. This is supposed to work. If you go to a page and it directs you to some stupid turkish website, hit the back button, and then immediately hit the stop button when the appropriate page displays, before you are redirected. Then click on the link you want. There are several redirects, so you may have to do this more than once.
  18. If I am out for several days I use a bandana. For one, it keeps my hair from blowing in my face. For another after a couple of days of not washing it (in the back country) I certainly don't want anyone to see it! This bandana is from a geocaching couple from Japan. I showed them around a bit when they came to Alaska.
  19. I wrote that it needed a new logbook in my log but I didn't want to possibly step on the owners' toes by posting a note for someone to bring a logbook. I'm not interested in adopting it or getting it archived because I want the location. I have a theme to my caches which it doesn't fit (places to see Denali and the Alaskan Range). Ok thanks for the suggestions.
  20. Say there was a cache placed by a scout troop of some organization. It's a decent cache, good location out of town so not visited often. Say then the scout leader moved away and the cache was in need of a new log book. So hypothetically you see that the cache owner has not logged in for several months so you send them an email to give them a heads up and post on the web page that a new log book is needed in case any cacher has plans to come soon to hypothetical cache. Said hypothetical leader will check to see if current hypothetical leader will go replace the log book. What if the current hypothetical leader can't replace the log book because they don't have a gps/is not a geocacher/etc? Would you hypothetically post a SBA? If such a situation was to occur, I couldn't reasonably get back out there to replace the logbook in the hypothetical cache without a pretty big pain in the rear. I mean, it's not a like we are hurting for hypothetical locations to place caches around here. It hasn't turned to geolitter. The hypothetical swag has not degenerated too terribly bad. Just curious as to the general consensus.
  21. Hahah oh dang girl. I just saw this. It took a minute to figure out what MCiK was but that is darn funny.
