  1. quick meditation.. ***please do not physically act out only to be done in mind*** visualize yourself all alone in a mountain valley gurgling beside you is a nice peaceful stream you see your hands moving through the clear water, they seem to be holding something the object comes in to focus it is the face of (insert inconsiderate cacher here) you notice your hands are around his/her neck holding it in the stream right as you feel they are almost out of breath you bring them up and allow them a breath of air before returning there face under the water ahh absolute silence and peace repeate dunking till stress is gone now open your eyes and feel how relaxed you are.. it has worked for me in maaaannnnyyyy situations
  2. just had an experiance like this on todays caching run.. was looking for a VERY wel camo'd and hidden cache on a walk bridge when a guy about my age came up and asked "you lose something?" i looked over thought of a few stories then said "actually playing a game called Geocaching with my GPS" as soon as i said that he looked really interested and said i've heard of that whats it about, make a long story kinda short i explained a little more and that i was looking for a container well hidden that was about this big (hands making a box of varying sizes between small and regular). well he started looking together for it and after about 30 minutes he said "You know what this is pretty fun" after an hour though we both gave the search up and parted ways, need less to say i think i just recruited a muggle to the caching world, YAAAY.. honesty and a look of belonging in the area seem to be the best remedy and may add to the fun as well .
  3. not if you are looking for traditional caches and save the coords via loc files to a program like GSAK (havn't made a route myself so not sure what programs can achieve making routes). But due to lack of further info we dont know what/how the OP tried to achieve what he wanted..
  4. being new i find humor in people like this, and the thing about language barrier, if you go/or went to school in germany you know english as it is required to learn it throughout school (alot speak it better then most americans), this i learned through visiting there as a kid with a childrens choir and stayin with a host family. dont let the younger ones fool you they know whats up they just like to play dumb. either way i forsee that i will not be logging any virtuals here as by the time i get to em they will be archived..
  5. since i have yet to find a decent app for an i776 suitable for geocaching, gonna try this one, and let you know how it turns out.. though im not Premium so i can only test so much buut ill let you know how well it works on a low end phone.. will quick edit as i get more info.. ** well it installs thats farther then most ** but you must have onboard storage so starting it is as far as i can go.. looks like if your PM and you can DL PQ Gpx file on a mem stick or phone memory then this might work, but not the case on the i776
  6. just recently got one of these after using my phones (iden 776 w/gps tracker)gps for a week. the phone worked but really badly like 40 seconds between coord updates. only found 3 caches with it. ** edit- almost forgot to mention at least 45 seconds if not 2 minutes+ for it to initially find sats sometimes and dont move** went and got a nuvi 205 and it works ok as a geocache finder.. kind of have to get used to changing from auto to pedestrian mode before you get really close to the saved cache coords, btw it dont tell you these (Coords) unless you manually entered the coords as a saved place (so far that i have found), and no compass. but it accepts topo maps and also found free trail and federal land maps as well that can be changed in setting (have to shut off the stock garmin map but it works really well) still looking for a routable trail map since we have plenty of nice trails (after you get past the river odor) that are mapped.. overall not a bad device and also has plenty of storage for maps. whole state topo/trail/street maps and 500 local caches stored in waypoints and still have plenty of free space, makes me wonder why i bought a 2 gig micro-sd for it. maybe a big state like texas or alaska might need all the space but here not so much.. in short it gets the job done is expandable though could use a few more zoom levels (just 1) and if your good with maps and get the software it is color so you can add satallite images for your area and add them to maps (havn't done this as lack of patience with software and time needed, could be out looking for more caches) and the nice part it can tell you what roads to take to get to the cache as well. hope this helps anyone interested in this model.. there are definately better models that will work much better in the bush but this one as long as you are nice to it will get you there, oh and a raincoat will be a good investment for it i see plenty of holes for water to slip in.
  7. So, Donald, have you purchased a membership for Mum (Daisy) and each of the five kids then? The workaround is left there for families like yours, as much as anything else--so that you won't have to purchase 7 memberships just so the wee ones can log a MOC they find with you. Does the youngest really need his/her own set of PQs? thats why there should be a "family membership" for like $50 and locked to their isp to prevent abuse. then what about those that use the comp at home but there phone in the field. when they get in the field they would have to use PQ's to get the info instead of going straight to the page in the browser on there phone. also to the its only a few bucks ppl.. tell that to someone like me who had to save for 5 months just to get a cheap garmin, or have a couple kids and lose your job and see it it seems like "ONLY" a couple bucks.. i enjoy this game alot as i know no one due to x-relationships driving/scaring everyone i knew away and definately would love to be PM but alas even a few bucks is expensive.. glad though that i can log a MoC if i make some pm caching friends in the area. thanks for the loophole so the poor can claim MoC finds too . though when my fortunes get better i do plan on becvomeing a pm dont get me wrong, but...
  8. only have one out so far but it was looked for the same night it was published and found early the next morning. seen a cachers truck sitting in the spot most gps's tell you to turn the night it was published but he/she/they didn't find it, but another family team found it obviously early the next morning right before the one(s) from the night before came back.. i guess it all depends on where its hidden and the number of cachers in your area
  9. hmm lets see holloween, 10 or 11 regular size cache containers (maybe make one of em large) plenty of prop bodyparts and travel bugs.. hmm i have an ideeeeeaaaaaaaaa
  10. Motorola i776 w/opera 4 - kinda random pages lol sometimes it will go to the right page sometimes same page with lots more sometimes back to main and sometimes it says i must be logged in to view. all while i am logged in. dunno kinda sketchy, but hey if i got time in the field and i can get the the cache info i wanna lookup because i forgot my book of coords on the desk then cool. a coord converter link in the wap would be nice. gps tracker (only one that i have found remotely useable of the free gps programs for the i776) makes coords NAD decimal format (yeah i know)
  11. Even Better we can make a GeoTrashing Trashing site on facebook saying how lame tey are with lots of mispelled wards and ugly font designs. and then spam there group with viagra and male enlargement ads forwarded from sdarken's email seriously though seeing things like this always makes for good humor at the least. to bad there are wastes of valuable air out there like this. i have actually met a trasher in real life and really he has no life but browsing for caches within less then a mile of his house to trash cause i guess anymore then that would take him away from his prescious computer to long that he might miss the newwest pron samples out there.. lol no im not joking about that either, and i think thats the funniest part
  12. ugh i hate when things error out but still post. i guess delet this and my post below as they are accidental
  13. Can you say "Cacher in Muggle Clothing" the ultimate cacher camo lol. i think i have ran across a few cachers while looking for a cache, caught half a comment about me that sounded like i think he's looking to. though since im looking at my cellphone w/gps tracker no one thinks anything about it, looks like im checking a text or something more so then caching to the untrained eye..
  14. dang to bad not even a foot ran over (may have saved the window). bet the cops would have found em then as well, "So sir how did you crush every bone in your foot?" Definately need to be aware in a city environment, alot more preditors there then in the woods. me personally i can walk right through the worst part of the ghetto here no problems (one has said cause of how crazy i look, who knows) but even then im always aware of whos around me what they are doing, escape routes if needed, possible defensive weapons off the street, etc. always gotta be watching and listening, though i now understand when looking for a cache you get focused alot on the find and less on whats around you making it easier for city jackles to sneek up. caution caution caution that all that can be done, would rather skip the cache as a dnf for the night then get hurt or mugged etc. though i have found (state law allowing) that if you get a cheap rotating yellow light from a store more ppl leave the vehicle and its occupant alone for thought that is security or something that can get the law there quick
