I think it is useful - before the event, send to anyone who logged "will attend" in case the event is changed, and after the event, send it only to those who logged "attended" for announcements like "did someone leave this behind", etc. Disable it 1 week / 2 weeks after the event. VERY good idea!

Yes, it seems to be a bug because and an announcement log goes to all who have logged "will attend". Or it might be that way on purpose...

You can't embed a video directly into the listing, but a link should be ok. AFAIK you CAN embed background music, but I'm not sure if Groundspeak permits that... or why haven't I seen a listing with music yet?

The "friends" feature gives you a quick view of the cachers you like. When you invite someone to be your friend, this person has to confirm before. See here.

AFAIK they are counted as finds on GC.com, but not automatically on Waymarking.com.

The Grimm Brother Fairytale Route goes through where I live AFAIK you can create your route in Google Earth and upload it to the site. Have Fun!
