  1. LandRover says Go for it. I had already made plans to get China Wall before I ever saw your Route. The Cache Menagerie will be heading that way one way or another.
  2. So it's Stegosaurus Butte this Saturday. Will everyone be bicycling? This sounds intriguing. I'll have my bike, but not because I'm riding it on Saturday. Friday I'm biking up to Calligan Lake off the North Fork Snoqualmie and instead of driving home and then back Saturday morning I'm going to camp somewhere along the Middle Fork Snoqualmie.
  3. I have Friday off so I'm doing a bike ride up to Calligan Lake off the North Fork road, then heading up the Middle Fork for either some dispersed camping or to the MF campground. Getting to the TH might jut be a drive across the road.
  4. If you're still on for this weekend it's a good chance I will be there.
  5. Another one of those places I've been eying for some time but alas I have a family obligation that day.
  6. We were out for a Sunday Monday drive today and drove through a couple of Washington State Parks and the only Discover Pass I saw was the one on my dashboard. Was at Tiger Mtn on Sunday and like today the only pass I saw was the one on my dashboard. Interesting note, the gate to the upper parking area at Tiger Mtn Summit off Hwy18 is locked but they have signs up that the Discover Pass required to park in that lot too, too bad you can't get to it.
  7. So we should take a scan of the pass so we can print a fresh copy whenever it fades. Hmmm ... Considering its a thermal print, that would be about every 6 months. I think lamination will slow down the fade effect. Not sure how hot a laminator gets but if it gets hot enough it may actually darken the thermal paper during the lamination process.
  8. Did the Route 66 trail in March. It was fun for what it was but not sure I want to do another one anytime soon, especially in Nevada in August, don't care if it's dry heat or not it's still too hot.
  9. For anyone interested I'll be at the Buck's crossing trail head, N 46° 45.493 W 122° 05.144, by 0900 Sunday morning.
  10. I'm heading down to Mt. Rainier this weekend for CITO the Mountain 2011 and am going to be stopping to do the infamous Buck's Crossing on the way home Sunday morning. I don't have a set time yet but if anyone else shows any interest I'll come up with a time.
  11. I might just be up for this depending on my legs feel later tonight / tomorrow morning. The abused legs feeling pretty good so I'll be there. Criminal's hike looks just a bit more than I want to do a day ofter Mt. Si.

    CITO 2011

For all of you that have anxiously been waiting........... CITO The Mountain 2011 was published yesterday.
  15. It sounds a little aggressive for the big guy & snowshoes but he's willing to give a go.
  16. I may not like it but I will be buying a pass, but I won't continue to pay the $5.00 for my 4 vehicles that I license every year so in the end the pass will only be costing me $10 more than I already pay. I wonder how many people that are paying the $5.00 already will stop paying it as well as not buy the new pass, net loss for the State, hmmmmm.
  17. What about the dual sport? I'm off Friday and am heading up to Otter Falls after work Thursday. Hoping to pack into the Lipsy Lake for the night.
  18. The last time Washington State had the State Parks Pass requirement I bought one and about two months later they dropped the requirement, talk about a waste of money.
  19. 0700 @ the mall works for me.
  20. Sunday is supposed to be the nicer of the two days. Do you have a preference? I'm leaning towards fire- nothing is blooming and there's still mushy snow anywhere up high. I'm not real familiar with the area but how about heading up the Hamma Hamma then setting a course for Mildred lakes andbooting it up the trail as far as the snow will let us? Or something else. Are you talking about this Mildred Lakes? If so, how will you get there, down and around or up and over? That's the place. Normally I would do the down and around, City Navigator says 1:50 down and around, 2:10 up and around to Hwy 101 & FR #25. SO I guess it's 6 of one 1/2 a dozen of the other. I am not sure when they repair the road.Sometimes spring runoff covers the road with gravel. But You can usually make it to the Putnam Trail which climbs pretty quick. I can see snow from my house I don't know how much there may be there. There's also Lena Lake. Not as high and should be paved all the way to the TH, if the FS bulletin is correct.

  24. Well the boss said ok, well actually she said ohhhhhkaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy. But any way you spell it, I'm in. If anyone from the south end wants to carpool let me know, you can either meet me here in Federal Way or I can meet you somewhere along the I-5 corridor.
