Whew. Glad it wasn't just me. I just got my Megellan GC for my bday/chanukah and started using it. It's great but I was worried about this too. I uninstalled and was afraid that I messed up al lthe programming already in the device. Luckily it doesn't seem that way. Happy Holidays and Happy treasure hunting to all!

Hey there. I will be new to Geocaching. I tried last year with my dad's old Magellan 315 but this year it won't start up. I called Magellan and they will give me a new unit at a discounted price but I don't know which to get because I was thinking of staying in the $150 area. They didn't offer the GC though I think I could ask about it if someone tells me it's worth it. They offered the 310 at $119 and the 510 at $209, so I may get the 510 but I don't know if those are good deals. I hate getting lost! That's my only criteria. The customer service lady told me that the 310 is not expandable and I can't add maps because it doesn't have a memory card or something. I don't know. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Gee, I thought I actually understood technology. Then my dad gave me this GPS and I thought I would finally be able to do this caching thing but I have read through the manual and still have no idea how to just put in coordinates from a listing on this site. The only thing I apparently figured out was how to put my name on it. lol. I was really looking forward to trying this. I feel like such an idiot. Can anyone help? Thanks, Ilana

I just joined a couple of days ago and am really excited to start hunting. I have 2 girls 9 and 6 and I was wondering if there is a way to know which hikes/caches are geared for kids? Also, any advice for a first hike? Thanks
