  1. OK, the couriosity is solved. Also we can not deny Azaruk's or Grawp's achievements. Actually have seen this practice on other than RSA forum that team members who split re-enter the founds they had cummulative in new names. Maybe a bit off-site this particular topic, but what happens if two individual cachers join into a team, do their finds accumulate?
  2. Grawp? Azaruk? Just curious, a name is selected for a particular reason, changed maybe for another particular reason. If my name is Mike I am Mike, not Paul or Harry? As said, just curious why somebody wants to change a name, understandable like QFC who broke up for obvious reason as one member is oversees. I do not expect an answer, just curious and that might be the way it is. Cache Fan
  3. Never mind if it takes 5 minutes, 30 minutes or 72 hours, Erik is and will be the best reviewer, most reliable, correct but understanding to our country. Erik, carry on like you are, you have all of our blessings and all the best to your award, you deserve it.
  4. Congratulations to TVM to your 700th and 800th, many more to come
  5. Cooooool. Generated Cache Fan's stats and they are spot on, number of caches, milestone dates etc. Caches found but disabled or archived by owners are included in the stats, only work is to select the "Favorites" and "FTF". Unfortunately we did not keep record on the later one as we are not FTF hunters, so work is required if you like this to be included. Stats on TB's and GC's are unfortunately not included, maybe enhancement request?
  6. Hi Global Rat, many congratulations to your 500th, whowww what a lot you got and hopefully many more. Greetings and all the best to the next 500 from Cache Fan
  7. I didn't realize it was a paid admission park. After I posted, I thought about it, and I figured the owners of the cam wouldn't appreciate cachers anyway...it would scare the animals away. Thanks for the feedback! Don't think the Geo's will scare the animals but the other way around.
  8. Garmap is usually linked to the GPRs unique ID, you can not use maps on more than one unit. Should have got the corresponding Mapsource to the Garmin unit with unlock code from the guy you bought it from. Maybe contacting AVNIC (the distributor in RSA) could help if explained, as long the unit was initially bought with RSA Garmap in RSA and not in the States or UK.
  9. Well done Bob to your 500th find.
  10. Unfortunately Cache Fan is only close to the largest Sand Pit from 23.12. - 10.01. on the South Cost. Anyway any event taking place in between will be attended if beach shorts are allowed. Also would like to place 2-3 caches in the Scotty area but would need a cacher for reference to maintain if we are not there (our yearly vacation is in Scotty since last 5 years in Dec/Jan).
  11. Possible locations at Loftus are currently being investigated but due to building plans not available at present I can not predict the alterations. For a start I will place a micro close by and once the current area of Sin-Bin is re-developed might move a regular cache there. Project plan indicates that the micro is going up for hunting coming weekend.
  12. Welcome back African Explorer Rodney, please share with us how you survived almost a year without?
  13. If still available Cache Fan will select Loftus.
  14. Sorry QFC, didn't want to bring you into the "so" category, please forgive. To be more specific, Brick, QFC, Crystal Fairy, River God, Tramper, Seeker2, FranTree, Hektic, LOC, Mistic, FranTre, Wa@lly, Rodnjoan, CacheConverters, M@x and not to forget the Rodent plus the other yebo or none Gauteng cachers, please come on to participate, I am sooooo lonely waiting for the challenger. :D
  15. Come on Guys, Cache Fan needs some competition otherwise its too lonely. Hi Brick and co, give the AC serie a bash.
  16. During my last trip to Berlin in July (Germany, just in case there is another dorpie with this name in RSA) , some Cacher's there mentioned this "new" facility to me, I think here it is largely unknown.
  17. The right answer is in the detail, you will notice that the unit is yellow, therefore it must belong to MTN! Cache Fan -pro Vodacom
  18. Surprised nobody volunteers for Limpopo, just imagine being instantly the no. 1 of the province, is there realy nobody out there chasing the stats?
  19. Hi QFC, the new site is realy cool, but what about the RSA trackable items, when will this be available? Greetings from Cache Fan
  20. Noneseless to mention that my today’s logs, DNF’s, remarks on rubbish dump’s etc. will not appear on GC today, nor in future!
  21. Hi Fish Eagle, At least one reply is owned to you regarding your very extensive observations and let me say I am not too shy to answer it from my point of view. You are very correct in saying that until one year ago there was no activity in the Lowveld to Geocaching, you are the Ambassador to this region, never mind what is said. The quality of caches in your region is in my opinion much higher that in regions as Gauteng, sorry to say but many new cacher’s in Gauteng are hiding caches on rubbish dump’s (especially the JHB East Rand region). In the last few weeks / months I have doubts regarding the rankings, do we really want and need it? In the last few weeks I am not happy at all with caches in Gauteng (location, quality, accessibility, …). Beginning July 2006, at a more spontaneous Geocacher get-together in Berlin, I mentioned some of my observations I had in Germany, unfortunately as the sport takes off here we are facing the same. For Cache Fan, no stats, do the ones interesting, hiding maybe? Cache Fan
  22. the GPSr came first Intended and used for traveling in Mozambique and Botswana using T4A maps it was rather under utilized and something else was needed. Once introduced by a colleague to Geocaching we were hooked, don’t know anymore what we did on a Sunday afternoon before?
  23. WELL DONE GLOBAL RAT, CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUR 400th
  24. Good to see some of the pioneers again, welcome back from Cache Fan!
