There is an Etrex H and an Etrex Venture HC. I think you are referring to the latter. It is a good choice for someone who has a GPS in their automobile. As others mentioned automotive units aren't a good tool for the job. They are built for the dashboard, not the outdoors and usually don't have some key features like extended battery life, compass navigation screen and water resistance. Well can anyone give me any advice on gps units? Will my Megellian roadmaster work for geocaching? My nephew said it should work. Or should I invest into a spearate unit altogether? Now I on't have allot of money to invest but I dont want cheap unit. Say around the $175 to $200 mark. I see this as an new adventure and perhaps a way to get my family OUT of the house and enjoy the fresh air for once.
