  1. One a month.

No, not "once a month." ONE a month. At this blistering pace, I will still run out of caches before I leave this place.

Unless, of course, someone besides me gets busy and places more caches. I may get lucky enough to average two a month. :(

Hang in there, take care, and have a grand time caching when you get home.

  2. If you decide to try to retrieve your cache at night DO NOT use a flashlight. The bees are attracted to the light. My Dad is a retired commericial bee keeper and I used to help him with the bees as a part time job. We moved them at night because most of the bees were in the hives then, and usually not very active. When we did use a flashlight it was very sparingly.

  3. What's this silly compulsion toward keeping sick or injured people alive? I don't get it. It's unnatural.

Oh, I see. You expect to be rewarded.

Addendum: Count me out. If I'm unconscious and dying, let me go, I'm ready. Please, don't presume everyone wants to be 'saved', just because they're unconscious.

So one can assume you would want the same thing for a family member of close friend? If you found your spouse, child, parent, or who ever unconscious ,or seriously injured your response will be to just let them die? What if was an easy fix like a diabetic that just needed an IV with an amp of D50 to bring them around? The heck with it don't bother? If it is a terminal illness I could understand, but the proper documentation has to be there.

  4. I know this may be an unpopular opinion, esp. here on these boards, but....

Why anyone would actively associate with an organization which OPENLY discriminates againsts gays is something I just can't understand. Would you assocaite with them if they didn't, say, allow blacks into their organization? Sorry, but hate and discrimination (and jingoism, for that matter) aren't things I want to teach my children.

    Best,

    Mr. Wisearse.

I was never in scouts as a teenager, But my son is almost an Eagle Scout. I am the troop Committe Chairman. At troop meetings we don't sit around and gay bash, or teach hate. We work on merit badges and try to teach leadership. There are so may boys out there with out a male figure in their life. I think scouting does make a diffrence. You have your opinion and I have mine. To each their own.

  5. Most of the people i've met are OF's

  6. Seen an Air Force recruitment commercial of some kids snow boarding that get off the trail. One pulls out a GPSr and says "This way" and leads them out. Then cuts to a bomber pilot, who is supposed to be the same kid later on, navigating to a bomb site. Then it goes on about having the right stuff....

  7. I'm going to assume you are talking about the Magellan Explorist 200. They now make the Explorist 210 which has the ability to connect to a PC. I have a 200 and like it. Bewteen work, scouts, and everything else I don't get to go caching as much as I would like, so entering the waypoints manually to me isn't a big deal. If you plan on doing a lot of caching I would go with the 210 that can be connected to a PC to download waypoints.

  8. My sixteen year old son used to like to go caching. Lately though he has been backing off some. I guess he is geting is own interests, (not to mention he now has a girlfriend). My twelve, soon to be thirteen, year old daughter likes to go once in a while.
