  1. Also having accuracy problems. I found a geocache despite the poor accuracy of the 64s unit. Standing about 5 feet to the south of the hide so that i was out of the trees, the gps read an accuracy of 9 feet and indicated that the geocache was 69 feet to the east. Activity was set to Direct Routing and Lock on road set to No. Seems to be a bit off.
  2. Had not used the compass much so i tried the the rotate test. the compass did rotate at times, but at other times i was facing north while the compass read south. 3. I followed this advice and my unit will now show my Geocaches even after i turn it on and off. Have not seen the error yet. I backed up the unit, and installed a card. Deleted the the three preloaded files from the GGZ folder. Then loaded pocket queries, maps and personal way points to the card. now it seems to be working every time. So it looks like you have have the out of date preloaded Geocaches or have your own but not both.
  4. I sent Garmin a detail explanation of my issue I was having with "No Geocaches found" and received this reply. Re: "No Geocaches found" <Q#:1000082> << Reference ID: 2499920 >> Product.Support@garmin.com Dear xxxxxxx, Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I am happy to assist you today. Garmin often releases updates for devices to improve performance, correct bugs or add new features. This update will only update the internal operating system software and not mapping detail preloaded to the device. The software update may erase user data that has been saved to the device. Before performing the software update, back up all userdata (waypoints, routes, and tracks). For instruction on backing up userdata from the device, please refer to the FAQ titled "How do I backup userdata (waypoints, routes, and tracks) from my Outdoor USB Device handheld?". To update your device's software a program called WebUpdater will need to be downloaded and installed. There are instructions at the bottom of the download page that will help with the installation of the program. Once the program has been installed, please follow the on screen prompts to complete the update process. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thank you, Justin 6887 Product Support Specialist - Outdoor Team Garmin International 1-800-800-1020 Fax: 913-440-8280 www.garmin.com In what way did Justin at Garmin support possible think that this was any help? What a worthless company!
  5. Did removing the pre-loaded Geocaches fix the problem of "No Geocachesfound"? I fired up the new replacement i picked up last night and an having the same problem all over again. Must be related to some configuration or other content with a conflict.
  6. I have a 64S and had the same problem. It work at first and then at some point it would report no geocaches found. I could load new geocaches and it would work again until i turned it off and then the problem would reoccur. I have also seen reports about the 62S where this problem was reported. I called Garmin support and they went through a number of trouble shooting steps and could not resolve the problem. They gave me the option to ship back for repair but i exchanged it at REI instead. When i got the new one home, i loaded some caches from the web site and now it seams that 250K that were preloaded are no longer accessible. The down side of the preloaded geocaches is that they do not get updated.
