Is it really that simple? Did I miss a comment somewhere that states not to have HTML-tags in your shortDescriptions? Thanx for the help!

Hello I have built several Wherigos (about 8-10) and the last few have been with the Urwigo app. I normally don't have too many issues since I don't try and do too much with the software and stay within the limits of the app. My last Wherigo I created and uploaded successfully was a couple weeks ago. So, I now have another one and I am getting an error I am unable to find any description of on these forums. I am totally lost and would appreciate any help. Server Error in '/' Application. Can anyone tell me how to do this with the Urwigo, I recently tried it and all I could do was have the player press the ok button multiple times and that looks bad. Another question slightly related. If I try and make this change in the source code instead of the builder how would I do this? Can I use Notepad? Will the Urwigo player convert it to something it can interpret? Thanx Bill (Borky00)

I downloaded every script I could find and in Chrome & IE I am getting the maps but now I am only getting a white line and a "X" instead of the cache description. Any one know how to solve this?

I have it uploaded already I cannot even change the amount of time it takes to play the cartridge. Do I need to publish it first? Do you know what text to search on to see the discussion or even a link? Thanx much I want to get this cartridge published soon.

I uploaded a cartridge a bout a week ago. Today I am trying to edit and publish my cartridge and it will not let me. I get an error. is the edit function part of the site down? I have been trying to 3-4 hours. Thanx Borky00

Does anyone know if there will be a special Souvenir given for any caches found or events attended on 11/11/11?

I "Set" them active=True and Display=ture becaue I default them to not be active or displayed. I am not moving then around zones. Is that the trick do I need to "move" an item into a zone befre it can be seen? How is that done? I will experiment more on this tonight.

I tried a few more things based on a previous cartridge I built with the Wherigo builder and still I have no luck. This may be a urwigo bug or something but I doubt I am the only one to not get this to work. Should I uninstall and reinstall the Urwigo builder? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am working on my second Wherigo the first one was with the Wherigo builder and it worked pretty well. I decided to build my second with the Urwigo builder. I am unable to get anything to show up in the You See menu. I make the character visible but they are not showing up. I loaded my first cartridge that I built in the Wherigo builder and that is all I did was make a character visible and they would show up in the You see menu. I even try the first cartridge in the emulator for the Urwigo and the character shows up in the you see menu. I am unable to see the character in the you see menu with my new adventure with the urwigo builder. Help please. Also, I am trying to make certain actions happen if the character is interacted with when they are in a certain zone. Is that where the commands for a character come into play? If I open a command and the box appears there is a section named Specific targets with zones, items and characters. Is this how I make some commands available only in certain zones? I loaded all Iowa caches in the summer via several PQs. Then weekly I run a PQ for new caches listed within the last few weeks and another one that "Is not Active". I am still seeing some that are archived in my GSAK database that my PQ did not pick up but I am also getting several hundred in it that are "Not active". I am not sure why some are coming up in the PQ and others are not. I guess I need to run the several original PQ's to refresh the caches to see which come up as not being updated in my GSAK database. Sound correct? Does anyone know why "Archived" caches are not included in the "Is not Active" PQs?

I am now getting the message listed above but I am not sure I had the same situation. I have been building the cartridge and then found out in a field test run that the apostraphy in "it's" does nto show up well so I went into Windows Notepad and removed the apostraphy in the two places it was and saved it. Wammo error. I tried putting it back in and save it but I think notepad saves it differently than the builder. If I cannot correct the problem can I revert the .gwc or gws files? What happens if you don't save it until you have it the way you like it? I am trying to route a back road trip across the entire state of Iowa. Being from a computer back ground I learned to save my work often, when I saved it after a small portion of the trip it saved it but then going back to it to continue on and the route moved back to a major road and not where I put it. Do I need to do the whole route and not save small parts? Thanx Bill

I am sorry I was not descriptive enough. I am trying to Create a Route in the Geocaching.com web site and I did part of the route saved it and then tried to do more of the route and it moved what I previously saved to send me along a larger more traveled road but I know I will not be traveling that road so can I make the route stick to where I put it and not adjust the previous route? I am trying to create a route by using some back roads and when I move the route it keeps trying to go back to the main roads. Is there a trick to keep the route that has been entered from moving back to the "Quickest" route?

That is exactly the piece i did not know. months ago I went to google earth and plotted a bunch of trout streams in Iowa and loaded them on my Garmin car GPS. I was several miles off when I tried to drive there. This explains this. Is there more information about this coordinates "conversion" I can read up on to understand the reasoning or rational for the multiple formats? I will try the suggested conversion and let you know if I am successful. Thanx again. very helpful.

I am reserching how to get permission when placing my first cache and was wondering if someone has an email or statement they have used when requesting permission. I don't want to leave off any crucial detail when asking for permission. What I am wondering is do I need to explain Geocaching, explain where the coordinates will be published (web), send pictures of the container, etc. If someone has typed up all this already I can use their expert advice and modify the loacation and other pertanent information. Thanx in advance for the work you put in.

I am new to Wherigo and green at geocaching in general but I believe I understand my GPS enough to get current coordinates. I am building my first cartridge and created a zone that appears to be miles off from what my GPS says. One concern I have as I start my catridge. I went to a location so I knew my starting location and my Oregon 200 GPS WAAS told me I was at N 41* 54.814 W -091.22.798 and when I used the Making map and plotted the first corner of my zone it told me I was at N 41. 91.356 W -091.37.992 The view was the areial view, the first option is, not the topgraphical or the other one. I tried to enter these locations in my GPS & I was not even able to enter in the "9" in the N 41.9 not sure if I will be able to find the proper location. Suggestions? Thanx Bill

The tutorial helped a lot thanx Snowfleurys. Guess I should have looked there first. I sent all the .imgs to my Oregon. That did not work.

I downloaded the full usa map IBYCUS USA. After more looking around I foud that i need to have all my .img maps under one name gmapsupp.img. not sure what that is all about. i down loaded the GARMIN Mapsource software to see if that will work for me. It looks like I need to combine all the .img files I have from the IBTCUS USA into one file called gmapssupp.imp

I have looked all over this World Wide Web and I am still having trouble getting a map that I downloaded from the GPSfiledepot to my SD card to be visible in my unit. The oregon only sees the basemap it comes with and I can not see the more detailed map that I downloaded. I tried disabling the base map that came with the unit "WW Autoroute Basemap NR" but I did not see any roads when I did that. Do I need to move things around via my PC instead of the unit? If so, I would be ever so grateful if someone explained it to me. Thanx Bill
