  1. No doubt. The question was more in general because I have seen more and more of these pop up (stickers and stuff not resellers) so was wondering if Groundspeak had developed a position on this. I have also made one for myself which I have in back of my SUV window. The metal tags I keep in the house so there is no multiple use of the number. I figured this would be ok, but after some of the copyright threads I began to wonder.

  3. In another thread they were discussing the logos from Groundspeak and their permitted use, so I have a related question: Since each number displayed on these TBs is purchased from Groundspeak or their distributers, is it permitted to sell these stickers/magnets? I ask because I have seen many of these from many sources and I bet not all asked permission. Some are selling these while others just make their own for their own use (like the giant ones I seen) so some may be ok while others not.
  4. Use the link on the right "View on Google maps" to download the tracks for each TB, then save the view on Google Earth. That way you can see all the movements on Google Earth for all the TBs at once.
  5. The easiest (manual) way is to push the mark waypoint button on the left. When the next screen comes up change the icon and numbers to reflect the ones you want. To input a bunch, I would use GSAK to load a pocket query from gc.com and send them to the Garmin. tried that does not work or i cant get it to.is there a simpler way What do you mean it doesn't work? What do you get stuck on? When you mark a point, it should give your current coordinates, use the arrow keys to highlight the coordinates and press enter. Then a pop-up screen will bring up the keyboard which allows you to change the numbers. Do it the same way for the icon and name. When done making changes make sure you press the ok button (bottom right) to save the changes. After you enter one, go to the "find" screen and look at recent finds, it should show up there.
  6. This is made from PVC pieces, you can get at most any hardware store. The ends are bought as is, and you may be able to get some short lenghths of the straight piece and cut to length.
  7. Click on "Options" on the right side and change to "Standard". That should fix it.

  9. It has geocaching, com instead of dot com? Yea I know, lame, but hey who knows I can get lucky?
  10. Well, that's not actually a 'preform' any more, that's a soda bottle now. A preform all growed up! Do you have a bottler of carbonated beverages (soda, pop, coke, etc.) near you? If they bottle into the plastic bottles, they'll have probably have a sub-contractor that handles the preforms for them. The 'sub' takes the loose preforms and sends them through a processing system that aligns, runs through a heater, blow molds/inflates, labels and palletizes them to go to the bottler. If you search the forums for 'preform' you'll find a link to a teacher supply place that sells them. Cache On! JohnTee Looking closer at this one it looks like it still is! I think the preform has been inserted into a growed up one so the liquid (not soda I hope) can be seen while contents of preform stay dry. Notice the glue? line around the neck. Not bad, but a muggle on CITO duty may indeed get this one.
  11. Check out this link: GSAK Waypoints/Icon Changes The page gives you what you need, you can do the entire icon replacement part or just use the part where it explains the cache name changes.
  12. Here is a picture of the coin! What a beauty!! Thanks again Highland Geofairy!!!! That is one fine looking coin, Congrats! It's amazing how many coins there are out there, I try and stop collecting for a bit and BAM out comes another one I like
  13. Put me down for a Polished Silver purchase and/or a trade for an LE if we could work it.
  14. Nice, I like the fact that it is the base of a tree with the roots showing. But I bet the tools you used gave you a workout
  15. What are your queries setup like? Mine have been sent that quick when they were copied or new but not the saved ones. Having the expectation that PQs be sent earlier in a que isn't asking too much IMHO. Seeing as there was enough foresight to place the forums on a different server to lessen the impact on the geocache server would it not be prudent to have separate servers do the queries as well? I sure would like to see a bandwidth graph on the difference between servers, because I see many users with umpteen different posts on the forums with just a few finds and vice versa.
  16. As much as i keep hearing about this technique I will have to try it. I'll let you know my results. In the meantime, this cache has yielded a few DNFs. We just released it. I seen many pics of pinecone caches, but they may be larger than the ones we get around here. As for your cache, looks good from here. How big is the container?
  17. It's all good, we all have them kind of days. The trick is to let it go and enjoy the game. So staying on que...has anyone done pinecone camo (real pinecone)? I tried this weekend and just made a mess, seems the core is not thick enough to hollow out unless you use a real thin container.
  18. Heh Heh that would make a nice geocoin delivery vehicle aka mail truck!
  19. What album is this from? There is a recording which lists it as: Grateful Dead Download Series Vol 3 The full concert from 26 October 1971 at the Palestra, University of Rochester, New York. Available as an official download from dead.net
  20. How about: Grateful Dead Jun 2002 Live From Bonnaroo
  21. Garmin's Mapsource can open and load GPX files into just about any Garmin GPS, but I recommend GSAK so you can manipulate the output. I load my points so it has a short name plus the size and wether or not it has TBs in it. i.e. Eight is Enough (GCV3PD) becomes: EightIsEn SN (the S means small and the N is no Bugs).
  22. The loc will only give you the coords, cache name and waypoint name. The gpx will give you that plus a few other details such as logs, hints, TB yes/no, etc.
